My favorite things in life don’t cost any money. It’s really clear the most precious resource we all have is time. – Steve Jobs

Do you mind me asking how many decades old you are?

You may or may not remember too much of your first. Your most natural needs at that time would have been quite easy to fulfill if you were fortunate enough to have loving parents. You didn’t ask for more than a sense of security and nourishment both mentally and physically. A cuddle a day was wonderful too.

Your second and third decades will have opened up your eyes to a more hurried way of living, always seeming to be in a rush. Rushing to school, rushing to work, rushing to meetings, rush rush rush! Most of us rush from Monday morning straight through until Friday home time whilst others rush from the previous holiday to the next holiday!

It’s manic right? We're being told to de-stress, slow down a bit... chill out!

We’re being told to de-stress, slow down a bit… chill out!

There isn’t time though is there?

Or is there?

We are rushing around so much my friends, we don’t even realize it!

When was the last time you gave yourself just 5 minutes (300 seconds) at any time of the day to just shut out the noise and chaos and responsibilities of our daily duties to just be silent?

This is the most valuable gift there is to mankind… to yourself. We can splash out on this truly amazing and priceless gift to ourselves every day, in fact, whenever we like.

The benefits to giving yourself this precious gift on a daily basis are immeasurable and cannot be compared to any material gift on the planet.

It is the most responsible thing you’ll ever do in your life. Not only will it enrich your life, it will greatly affect the lives of those around you.

By the time we’ve entered into our fourth and fifth decade, we’ve seen a lot, heard a lot and probably regret a lot too!

Keep going strong and making sure you give yourself that gift of time each dayIf you’ve reached a stage in life by now, where you can sit down quietly and really love yourself, you’ll be doing better than most. It’s the most rewarding relationship with anyone that we can have.

To really truly love yourself, it takes some doing! I take my hat off to you if you can already relate!

Keep going strong and making sure you give yourself that gift of time each day. You know it’s working!!!

So what if YOU + TIME (and we’re only talking 5 minutes a day, feel free to go all out and increase this to 10 mins) really does = A happy wholesome you.

  • A you that can sit alone for any length of time and just be happy with your thoughts and who you really are instead of finding a distraction because your thoughts are driving you crazy.
  • A you that is progressing in all the ways you hoped you would.
  • A you that does not fall into the trap of being timid when what you really want to portray is humility.
  • A you with a healthy sense of pride and confidence as opposed to arrogance.
  • A you that is kind but not weak.

They say the best gift we can give to another is time… yet we resist giving it to ourselves.

What about all those times you’ve seen a friend or family member burning the candle at both ends!

You really meant it when you suggested they take a little time out for themselves to get back on top of things.

How about trying this for yourself, knowing it couldn’t fail!

A great time to try this might be the next time you find yourself in a position when you know you’ve made a mistake. You just know deep down you handled it all wrong. Instead of criticizing yourself over and over in your head, going over the five other scenarios you could have used but didn’t and doing even more damage, doesn’t it makes sense to do the opposite and give yourself a gift. Why punish yourself anymore! Accept that you made a mistake. Thank goodness we do at times or we’d never grow and learn! Start replacing self sabotage with a gift. It’s free, it’s immediate and you can do it anywhere and any time and if you can’t… Owning more of your own time might be a future goal on your List of Life.

once you start giving yourself just 5 minutes of silenceYou will only begin to see the massive and positive changes it makes to your daily life once you start giving yourself just 5 minutes of silence… of much needed and deserved you time.

If you knew that doing this just once a day at any time of the day for 1 week, would produce such benefits, is it not worth investing in yourself?… Remember its free of charge and won’t cost a cent.

The benefits to giving yourself this gift on a daily basis are immeasurable and cannot be compared to any material gift.

It is the most responsible thing you’ll ever do in your life and I guarantee it will change your life and way of thinking.

When we change our way of thinking… We can change our world into anything we want it to be.

For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again. – Eric Roth
