Deep Meditation

Deep meditation can be achieved with a handful of different meditation techniques. To have arrived at this article my guess is that you have already practiced some kind of meditation and have not been particular pleased with the depth that you have already achieved?

To achieve a more profound meditation that is full of meaning is achievable with a little discipline and persistence. One of the deepest meditations I have ever experienced was with a simple mantra meditation session. I was meditating late at night and must have been at least 45 minutes in to my meditation when I had all kinds of weird and wonderful sensations coursing through my body. I didn’t want to end the session but eventually did. I had never felt relaxation like that before, I felt like I was on the ceiling.

I soon realized that deep meditation is a fantastic place to visit but it has its negative points to consider. The same evening that I went in to that deep meditation, I awoke in bed sweating and with all kinds of nasty sensations running through my body. This was a classic case of over meditation. Some guru’s refer to this as a kundalini awakening and it is not pleasant.

Just a little story to make you aware that deep meditation can be very rewarding and is often achieved with longer meditation sessions. Just be aware that you can have adverse side effects by going too deep too soon.
