Advanced Meditation

Advanced meditation techniques should be practiced with guidance. Where basic meditation will usually be short and involve one main focus such as the breathing, an advanced meditation will be much longer and will have a much deeper, meaningful purpose than simply alleviating stress.  Advanced meditation techniques are designed to take you as deep as you can go, beyond even your subconscious mind and physical relaxation.  Hypnosis is a form of advanced meditation, and when you have achieved this deep remuneration state, much healing will occur for you and often for those around you.

It is difficult for a beginner to partake in an advanced meditation session.  They are lengthy and complex, and if you don’t have highly developed, somewhat superior meditation skills, you will not be able to go deep enough.  If you aren’t higher up on the advanced meditation scale, it will be difficult for you to stay still for so long or keep your thoughts at bay.  Take into consideration how often you have been meditating and for how long, and if it has been every day for a few months or even years, you may just be ready.  A good way to know if you should move on to advanced meditation techniques is if you find yourself disappointed when your practice ends because you wanted to go deeper.  Or maybe you have done them all so many times they no longer capture your attention, and you find your mind wandering in contemplation about other things.  If it is the latter, you probably are not ready to progress just yet, and should instead seek out a different one to try that is more suited to you.

If after some deliberation, you are still unsure if you are ready to move into advanced meditation practices, the best option is to give it a go.  The objective of an advanced meditation technique is to achieve total oneness with the universal energy and whole, and have divine love flowing freely through you and from you to all.  This is difficult, and not many people actually experience it in their lifetime.  You must have highly developed, sophisticated meditation skills to be able to get there, and it is a complex journey through your own mind and issues.  Only a much evolved soul with no attachments or hang-ups, no prejudices and pure compassion can truly achieve an advanced meditation state.

In beginner meditation practices, you learn how to clear your mind and focus on your breathing.  You may even get to the point where you feel like you almost don’t need to breathe at all, and your mind is completely blank.  This basic meditation is great for relieving your every day stresses and worries, and for most people it is all they ever want to learn.  The next step in progressing towards advanced meditation stages is using your practice to more actively resolve issues and mental obstacles.  This can only be done when the conscious mind is set aside and deeper parts of the unconscious mind are allowed to come forward.  It is deep in the core of our brain where our childhood experiences and programming resides, and to access it you need to have your brainwaves well below normal sleeping levels.

To practice advanced meditation, you should be able to stay conscious throughout a lengthy session without falling asleep, which also takes superior, more highly developed talents.  The best way to understand it is to imagine your brain like an onion, with each layer forming throughout your life from birth.  You have instinctual, primal parts that hold things like your need for food, water, sleep, swallowing, and blinking, as well as innocence and purity, which is the very core of the onion, and then there are layers of your childhood brain that holds most of your personality and learned traits and experiences.  This is the place where most people have a lot of blocks and issues that hold them back in life without them being aware of it.  It is also the place that requires the most work in your meditation practices.  The adult brain makes up the outer layers of the onion, and the skin is what is on your conscious mind in the form of thoughts and worries.  Of course this is a very simple explanation, and there are many books that are available for your consideration.  It is only through meditation, relaxation and hypnosis that you can access and heal these layers, working from the outside in.

Those who are able to reach divine, blissful states through advanced meditation have superior and highly developed minds and souls.  They are able to truly give loving energy and divine love back to the universe as well as receive it.  Of course, to be a channel for this higher energy, you need to have taken much deliberation to ensure your body is in excellent physical health, you are an adult (over eighteen recommended for advanced meditations) and you have evolved through all other levels of meditation.  Those who practice advanced meditation successfully are often healers or gurus and their disciples or apprentices, but there are some devoted and possibly gifted individuals who have been able to develop these superior skills over time also.
