Do you ever find yourself unable to fall asleep? Do you fall asleep only to wake up in the middle of the night – and get up in the morning feeling exhausted?
If you are unable to sleep, meditation could be your answer.
People around the globe are experiencing wonderful results using meditation to induce sleep and more importantly they are treating the leading cause of their sleeplessness: stress.
Let’s talk about the inability to fall asleep.
First, it’s important to eliminate lifestyle habits like eating, exercising, or TV watching too close to bedtime. Blue light emissions from TV or computers, the metabolic functions of digestion and the increased “revved up” energy you get from exercise, will interfere with sleep. Try to create at least a 3-hour buffer between these activities and sleep.
You can use an evening meditation to relax yourself, if you’re feeling too energized. Meditation stimulates the production of serotonin and melatonin, which are essential to getting a good night’s sleep.
If your inability to sleep is not caused by these factors, look at your stress level. Are you finding it hard to wind down in the evening because your thoughts are racing? Are you facing struggles and difficulties that you can’t seem to shake? Problems you can’t solve?
Here again, meditation will help. Meditation trains you to prefer positive thoughts over negative thoughts: the amount of attention you place on a particular thought, determines whether it becomes part of your “automatic thought habits” – your automatic thought habits are the “drivers” of your choices and behaviors, and they will have very predictable results. But this can go either way! You can train yourself to think about what you want, and just allow your inner wisdom to come up with solutions – or you can remain “trained” to think about what you don’t want… which will keep you awake trying to get away from it!

“I Have Enough” Meditation for Money and Relationship Worries
Before bed, meditate and focus your thoughts on ONE thing: “what you want.” Narrow your focus so that you’re thinking about one thing, not your overall life picture (which can get complicated and can stimulate too much thinking). For example, if you’re struggling financially or you feel like it’s just “you against the universe, alone and unloved”… you can silently repeat this affirmation during meditation, “I have enough.”
While this may feel like a big fat lie in the beginning, gradually it will become part of your automatic thought habits, and it will start to feel natural and normal – best of all it will stimulate your brain to seek out opportunities and resources for increasing your wealth… can you see where this process will take you? You’ll go from the anxiety of ‘knowing’ that you don’t have enough… to the inner peace of knowing that you do. As you say this affirmation, imagine the things you DO have enough of: air to breathe, talent, creativity, experience, clothes to wear, friends, love to give, etc. This becomes a powerful gratitude meditation that will relax your racing thoughts, and allow for a good night’s sleep!
If you do find yourself awake in the middle of the night, put on your headphones and listen to LifeFlow! Even if you’re awake, you’re still in a meditative, restorative state, and you won’t miss the “lost” sleep.
Gradually, a daily meditation practice will help relax your body and mind, and promote a healthy night’s sleep.

Another helpful post and tips. Currently meditate while laying in bed, which helps to fall asleep; however long it takes. Sometimes fall asleep quickly and other times not so fast, but meditating in this way seems to help with sleep not just falling asleep. This is besides the meditation done in the morning.

Badly. Wake in middle of night consumed with anxiety. Toss and turn. Deep breathing makes me worse.
