On Monday afternoon I had a great idea and you’ll be blown away with how simple yet powerful this easy technique is to apply to anything you want to achieve in any area of your life.
Before I go into that, here is a small piece from a 2009 Brainwave Entrainment study that has been written up in an easy to understand way.
This study was carried out under the auspices of the Canadian Center of Science and Education and published in their journal. It includes work by researchers from the School of Educational Technology, Shenyang Normal University, China, and from the Graduate School of Innovative Life Science and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Toyama, Japan:
“Stress causes chemical changes in the brain which in turn affect your health. By using Brainwave Entrainment to change the state that your brain is in, you can affect your health in a positive manner. Just by bringing your brain into an alpha state you will find that your stress melts away and your outlook on life brightens. I do want to mention that diet and exercise is also crucial to reducing stress and you will find that you can use Brainwave Entrainment to help program your mind to change your diet and get you to exercise. The benefits to be realized by controlling your brainwaves are wonderful. You may be thinking, Brainwave Entrainment is similar in the sense that you will find over time you will be able to handle stress and life’s issues more easily.
Here are a few of the benefits you can experience with Brainwave Entrainment:
a. Increase your focus and concentration
b. Increased memory performance
c. Increased creativity and problem solving ability
d. Enhanced sleep and ease of getting to sleep
e. Enhanced health
f. Access your intuition
g. Relaxation and stress reduction
h. Behavior modification (getting rid of your bad habits)”
I’ve highlighted the line about diet and fitness because the technique I am going to share with you will make it almost impossible for you to fail with dieting, toning up or anything you want to achieve.
Here’s how the idea came to me…
As I was in the shopping mall on Monday afternoon I heard a loud crash. I looked around to see a lady who appeared to have knocked over a large glass object.
The man by her side angrily commented “How could you be so clumsy?” Can you imagine what happened next?
One of the things that happened gave me an instant revelation – And the idea I’m excited to share with you…
The “aha” moment…
The idea was the most important thing that happened. It suddenly dawned on me that when the man berated the lady with the question, he automatically caused her sub-conscious mind to search for the answer to reinforce his dis-empowering question.
Because that’s what the sub-conscious mind does. When we consciously ask questions the sub-conscious mind always goes in search of the answer.
Most people go through life asking negative questions – and wonder why they don’t get the results they dream of.
This is because most people are not aware of one of the basic laws we are governed by and how it works for you if you know how to apply it.
There are many laws of the Universe. To help you understand what I am going to share with you let me give you a couple of examples…
Everyone is aware of the law of gravity. We don’t know how it works, still we know it works and it works for everybody. It doesn’t matter whether you are a hero or a criminal, if you use the law of gravity wrong by stepping off a skyscraper expecting to float down or fly, the outcome on the pavement below will be exactly the same.
The law of electricity also works for all of us. If we use it properly we can light up our homes yet if we stick our finger into a socket it can kill us.
The power of thoughts and words is also a universal law. We are the only species on earth that is born with a conscious and a sub-conscious mind. This gives us the power to decide what we want. We have the choice to use empowering or dis-empowering words to ourselves and to others.
Why do people choose to use dis-empowering thoughts and words on themselves and others?
Because they seem to vibrate more easily with negativity. They don’t do it on purpose and they don’t want negative things in their lives yet they keep on talking about them not realizing that negative thoughts bring negative results.
You may be aware of some of your own negative inner talk. I call it the inner critic and here are some examples…
- I feel so alone and unhappy
- I’m not good enough
- I’m such a worrier
- I never have enough money
- That’s just the way I am
First of all, it’s essential to know what your own negative thoughts are so that you can change them. Maybe you’ve already tried or done this with positive affirmations. Whether you have or not just try this little exercise for the example, “I never have enough money”…
Turn it into a positive affirmation and speak in the present as though you already have more than enough money.
Say aloud “I am rich”. Now, did you hear your inner critic say something like “No you’re not” or “Yeah right”?
Now, say aloud “Why am I so rich?” Did you spot the difference?
Asking a positive question instead of saying a positive statement is really powerful because the sub-conscious mind ALWAYS goes in search of the answers.
Find out what your negative inner critic tells you often, turn them into positive affirmations in the form of questions, write them down and repeat them over and over to yourself. And see what happens.
