Chakra Meditation

Chakra meditation is a form of meditation that is concentrative, recharging, and cleansing. Chakra meditation is used as a balancing form of meditation that is used to channel in good energy and to get rid of negative energy that is in your body. The chakras that are throughout the body are the centers for energy within the body, and using chakra meditation helps to keep the energy balanced and aligned.

Chakra meditation can be performed in a couple of different positions including lying down or sitting in a position that feels comfortable and relaxed. It is important that the head and back is aligned while performing chakra meditation. While practicing chakra meditation, many people choose to listen to soft, soothing music or to listen to complementary music that is soft and relaxing. It is important to remember that this form of meditation is very powerful and you should take the effects into consideration before you begin. Chakra meditation uses thought, contemplation, and reflection on the various chakras to bring about the rumination and balance that is needed and also to provide more energy as well. As you are meditating, it takes deliberation to focus on the chakras and to get rid of problems and bad energy that may be contained therein.

If you are going to practice chakra meditation it is important that you understand the seven chakras and how they effect the body and mind. The root chakra, which is red in color, is at the very base of the spine and the health, security, and sense of connection to the world is contained within this chakra. Before working on other chakras it is important that this chakra is made strong and healthy first.

The second chakra that one focuses on during chakra meditation and contemplation is the naval chakra, which is orange in color. This chakra is located around the naval or the womb area and pleasure, sexuality, and creativity are linked to the balance of this chakra. The third chakra is the solar plexus chakra, orange in color, and located at the solar plexus. This chakra controls self-discipline, power, and discipline come from this chakra. In chakra meditation, the fourth chakra is known as the heart chakra which is green. This chakra is the center for feelings and love, and most emotions come from this chakra.

The fifth chakra is sky blue in color and is called the throat chakra. This chakra is located at the throat and wisdom, communication and honesty are parts of the throat chakra. The next chakra that is taken into consideration during chakra meditation is the sixth chakra called the brow chakra, which is located directly between the eyes. Perception, clairvoyance, and imagination are all related to this chakra as well as thought and intuition. The last and seventh chakra is the crown chakra, which is violet in color, and it is connected to the spirit and the mind. Reflection of the mind and rumination of spirit is affected by this chakra.

Chakra meditation is not something to be taken lightly, but it is a powerful way to meditate and to energize and cleanse the body. If after consideration you want to give this type of meditation a try be sure to start out with a person who is experienced in chakra meditation.
