Default LifeFlow 10 & hypnosis? - Paul Mckenna

Hi guys!!
I'm using LifeFlow 10, but I have a question: I would like to buy a book by Paul Mckenna "instance confidence" + audio cd that provides hypnosis..
-is it good or dangerous while using also LifeFlow?
- it says to not use it if you suffer from epilepsy or clinical depression, does anyone know why?

any advice will be well appreciated!!
cheers!

Hi Thanh Lan,

Generally, if you're going to practice meditation it's best to just try sticking with one technique for a while and then if after practicing it, you find it doesn't suit you, move and try a different technique. Just mixing techniques on a daily basis is usually not a good way to determine what technique works for you or which is proving beneficial.

If you are using the Paul McKenna CD for a specific purpose, which seems to be a hypnosis session for confidence, then this shouldn't have any effect on using Lifeflow or the other way around. The hypnosis is treating a specific condition whereas Lifeflow and meditation are working on the general wellbeing from a holistic approach. I certainly can't think of any reason why it would be dangerous to use both, although obviously you won't be able to listen to the hypnosis CD and the Lifeflow track at the same time.

As for epilepsy and depression, this is a standard disclaimer as such conditions often require professional supervision. Epilepsy can often come about when a person with this condition has a large change in brain activity, so meditation, relaxation and hypnosis could take that person to a state where they have a seizure. Clinical depression is when a person is severely depressed (on medication and under medical supervision/checks), so entering a state suitable for hypnosis could actually bring about a great emotional change for that person which they may not be able to handle by themselves. Hence it is best to seek medical advise and supervision if you have these conditions and wish to try any sort of relaxation or hypnosis techniques.

All in all though, they can prove beneficial to such conditions, just so long as they are practiced with caution and with appropriate supervision.

Hugs

Giles

To the best of my knowledge, there's no reason why you couldn't use Lifeflow whilst on medication, as it's essentially as harmless as teaching yourself to write (i.e. you're training the brain to work in a particular way through repetition), but it could also depend on the medication and what condition you actually have. The best thing is to check with your doctor.

Hugs
