I've recently become of what practitioners call Vedic Meditation. I'm starting to think that it's somewhat of a proprietary name because it doesn't seem like it's possible to find a teacher for less than $400-600 dollars.

It's distinguishing features seem to be a lack of required postures, no vocal utterances, just an inward, mentally repeated mantra. I don't know enough about meditation to know if this is significantly different than another type or if I'd be able to get instruction of a similar nature at a meditation center which calls for donations vs hundred of dollars.

Anyone able to speak to the differences of Vedic Meditation and other types of of Meditation, and where it can be learned without a big budget hit?

    Thanks,
