When I meditate, It feels like my eyeballs are being sucked to the back of my head then my eyes flutter and I start shaking uncontrollable in my head neck and torso. I focus on the mantra instead of the shaking and then the shaking increases but after what feels like passing a "barrier", it find deeper meditation and more light emanating from my forehead as a expanding circle. as I go deeper, I shake again. Also I am feeling a fear of death when i get deeper.

Should I stop meditating? am I convulsing whats going on?

    Thanks for the help:)

Hi adonislove and welcome to the community

apologies for late reply - have just arrived back from a last minute week away for a special birthday holiday for my husband.

    Few questions for you...

What kind of mantra are you using to meditate with and are you using entrainment? Do you suffer from epilepsy?

In the meantime, here's a link to some really helpful information about meditation and entrainment:-

Let us know if you have any more questions after reading the above thread. I'm sure you will find it really helpful and wish you an abundance of peace and joy :) :) :)

This could also be that you are straining too hard to close your eyes. Often, people new to meditation, will try and force their eyes to be shut hard, and sometime also roll their eyes upward when meditating, as if it somehow helps to reach the meditative state. This mainly causes eye strain and pains, and could be having an effect on the nerves around the eyes which I guess could be the cause of the shaking...

So, perhaps just try and relax a little more, let the eyes just restfully close and meditate without trying too hard. ;)

    Hugs

Who is measuring what deep is or not.
It is an entity that is shaking, not you, it is trying to scare you.
Don't let is scare you, it only has the power that you give it, by fearing it.
    Tell it to leave.
To meditate properly is to "be still". I don't know what meditation you are doing, but, all you need to do is be still and let your thoughts go by, don't speak to them. No mantras, just be still. no expectations.
Don't try to do it for any length of time, a few minuets is sufficient. It is just being aware, not falling into a trance. It is simple, why make it hard?
    Don't let it scare you.

Whilst I can agree with the sentiment, unfortunately the psychology of your wording could be improved; and not sure what evidence you have that it's some seperate 'entity' that's doing the shaking (perhaps you could explain further?).

    Don't think of a banana.

Ooops, too late you just did.

Telling someone not to do something only enforces that thing in their mind and draws their attention to it. It's a mistake often made by parents who tell their kids "Don't touch that ..."; which just draws the kids attention to it, rather than drawing their attention away to something else e.g. "Come and hold my hand" would bring the child's attention to something neutral or positive. In Psychology and related 'mind' techniques such as NLP, CBT, Life Coaching etc. the practitioner should aim to assist the client in placing their focus on the positive desired outcomes, not on the issues.

    Just my 2 cents. ;)

I spoke from what I have experienced,, not from study as most do. Entities do exist.

"Teach a child the way they should go and they will not depart from it".
