For some time I moderated the "group meditation" forum.

However, I am lacking both time ( and to be honest ) interest to continue doing that, and since the last post was around a year ago, perhaps it would be a good idea to close/remove the thread and end my moderatorship ?

I would like to go back to being a normal everyday poster like Giles.

    Thanks in advance :)

Giles, what is it like being a minority of 1, it appears that Edwin believes you are normal and the 50,000+ members are abnormal ;):D:D

    Me... normal?

We're all normal, we just cover it up with abnormalities.

    Edwin,

Not sure how moderation works on this forum, but even if one of the forums is not that active, is there still not a need for a moderator to just be around in case there's someone posting spam elsewhere. The forum I moderate on, we've had moderators come and go, but we do try and encourage them not to leave when they say they haven't got the time. On that forum, it doesn't matter if someone can't be around all the time to moderate but just that, if they are online, and they do see something they can deal with, then great, that's a helping hand, and if they're not around, it doesn't matter, some other moderator will pick it up. In most cases, moderating is just about helping to keep the forums tidy when you can. Obviously I don't see what goes on behind the scenes here, but I know Project Meditation is not as active (not yet, but it's been getting more and more members ;)) as the forum I moderate on, so just because it may be quite wouldn't usually mean there isn't a need for moderators. Over on that forum, we moderators take part in the forums as normal members, and if we post anything as a moderator we always make it clear by stating "*** moderators hat on ***" at the start of the post.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll know best, and you'll sort out what you want, though I'm not sure why you think being a 'normal' poster like me would be any different.

    Hugs

    Giles

    LOL @ Karmoh
I consider you to be one of those abnormal everyday posters :D ( Kidding of course)

Giles, the only forum I moderate is the group meditation forum.
And I am just not active in that forum.
I have absolutely NO moderation rights in ANY other forums and threads.

That is why I thought that the group meditation forum might as well be ended, and that would make my moderation rights for a non-existing forum a bit silly.

Besides, I seem to be attracting extra attention because of my moderator status, something that I have been annoyed with several times over the years. People seem to think that I get payed by PM or something.
And as such, I get a lot of crap my way.
In Holland we have a saying that "Tall trees catch a lot of wind" and I just don't feel like being in the picture like that anymore.

I would rather just be a normal poster like Karmoh, you know ?

Wow, that's restrictive. I thought, like other forums I know, the moderators tend to be able to moderate multiple forums, unless there is a speciality that they work on.

Ah, yes, been there done that, bought the t-shirt. I've had some very personal abuse from some people, but we just ban them (and ban them again and again as they try and re-join) and eventually they get the message they're not welcome. Most members are aware that the moderators are volunteers.

    :D Karmoh! Normal! :D

Here's a suggestion, to the admin team perhaps as well as yourself.
How about allowing the moderators to moderate across all the forums (c'mon, you must trust them by now! ;)) and also allow them to have a normal avatar that doesn't have "Moderator" plastered across it. That way they could post on the forums as normal members do, without obviously being a moderator, but then could also help out removing spam or whatever as necessary. Of course, Edwin, if you really don't want to moderate any more then that's your choice, I'm just considering alternatives. ;)

    Hugs

    Giles

It really cool to see that follicly challenged (To use a politically sensitive adjective) is universal; my Avatar was selected by my wife, not for the pose, but for the resemblance.
    :D:D;)

Welcome to Forum New_Edwin, you are now Normal.........

I thought I’d come out in support and say that I too am losing some 'external cranium insulation' these days, in the words of Harry Hill “I realised it was happening because it was taking me longer and longer to wash my face each day”. :) :D

Avatar updated to reflect support :p

On a serious note, I get the impression things are getting pretty manic for you at the moment Edwin, if so I hope things get easier soon.

It only seems that way Paul, don't worry, really.
Things are happening, and where needed a response happens, nothing to do with me. :D

    Stop insulting me :D:cool:

This picture is one of my favourites because of the story behind it.

I was doing volunteerwork at the school my kids go to, and someone had just given me a nice big piece of home made pie, and I just put a large chunk of it in my mouth when someone aimed his camera at me. All I could do was laugh sheepishly...
    <--------- see what I mean ? :p
