"Does your mind drift off to other matters when someone is trying to talk to you? Do you start thinking about something completely different and then when you’re asked a question, you have to scramble for an answer?

A wall of silent resentment can shut you off from someone you love if either of you don’t know how to really listen and communicate with each other. Nobody feels heard or understood, and misunderstandings are frequent.

When you take the time to actually listen, with humility, to what people have to say, it's amazing what you can learn and how you can strengthen your bonds with others.

Wouldn’t it be great if the other person really heard the ideas, needs or wants you were trying to express? Wouldn’t it be great if you showed your respect and love for someone by being fully present and engaged in what they’re saying? Wouldn’t it be great to be able to listen and understand the other person’s point of view… and wouldn’t it be great if they heard and understood yours… so you can come to a mutually satisfying agreement and resolve your problems?

    Yes, it would be wonderful!"

The above is copied from part of the latest issue of "The Good Life" I received this morning from Project Meditation. Of course this is only one gift from meditation, that being said, it is so wonderful to really listen to other peoples perspectives with an open mind and no judgement. What a difference it can make in the world.

    Peace and Joy :) :) :)
