Default Update

Hi All,

I wanted to share some interesting experiences I've had since starting to use Lifeflow10.

I've had it for about 2 and a half weeks. I listen to it for about 20 mins. first thing in the morning after showering. I get up 20 mins earlier than I used to so the house is quiet and because I shower first I don't fall asleep! I listen sometimes with headphones and sometimes with speakers. During this 20 mins. I recite a mantra "I am" over and over while meditating.

I also listen to Lifeflow before falling asleep, not trying to meditate, just relaxing into sleep.

The Update.

1.) Insomia is gone!!

I can't believe it but since my marriage broke up almost 4 years ago, I haven't been able to sleep without using some kind of pill, benedryl or a tranquilizer. I tried everything to sleep without the use of these and would always wake up at 2a.m. being restless for another 1-2 hours. Exhausted in the morning. I tried melatonin, sublingual, giving up coffee and recently, melatonin time-released. Nothing worked. Finally, I combined Lifeflow with melatonin (time-released) and reducing coffee to one or two cups a day.I am falling asleep effortlessly. If I wake, it's brief and I go right back to sleep. This is a HUGE break-through for me and I can only attribute it to LifeFlow.

2.) I am feeling more energized and happier in general. I feel at peace with my life and know that I'm going to be OK. This is an improvement also, because recently I was feeling very sad after breaking up with my boyfriend of 1 and a half years, my first relationship after my divorce. It was a wonderful relationship but he was 10 younger and wanted a family and children and I had already been down that road and was at a different point in my life. However, I was feeling empty, lonely and despondent without him. I finally broke through that feeling and just feel so much better,,,as I said, I feel that I'm going to be OK or more than that, absolutely fine.

3.) Some unexpected improvements/changes; I'm a Sudoku addict and love to do the hard puzzles each day on the train to work. Until I listened to Lifeflow, I would get maybe 50-60% of them correct. I then found myself trying a new, really simple (but up until now, hadn't thought if it) strategy. I have a 80-90% success rate now, ha ha. I'm laughing to myself because the strategy is so simple, obvious to me now but I was making it way to complicated, which is the story of my life.

Finally, I have a question about my mantra. Some one sent my a link to an amazing talk recently by a neuropsychologist who experienced a stroke and was able to document her experience during it. She used the words "I am" to describe how the Left Brain works as opposed to the Right Brain, which does not recognize itself as separate. It struck me that I would prefer to use a different mantra, 2-word, as I don't want to feel separate while meditating, I want to feel "as one". Does anyone have some suggestions for me?

I hope this isn't too long. I just wanted to share how happy and pleased I am that I decided to become involved in Lifeflow.

Peace.

Gina

Hi Gina,

that's absolutely wonderful and I am so pleased for you. Hope you don't mind that I had your post moved to here for others to be inspired by. Am going out to lunch now and will get back to your mantra question tomorrow unless someone else answers first.

Once again, I am so happy for you and wish you an abundance of peace and joy

Hi again Gina,

here's what I have learned about choosing a mantra. The purpose of using a mantra is to provide you with something to focus on and help you from becoming carried away with your thoughts. It is simply a vehicle to help quieten your mind. When your mind does quieten, let the mantra go too. When thoughts come back again, re-focus on the mantra until your mind becomes quiet again and then let it go once again. If your mantra has a meaning, this will give your mind something to think about, which is the opposite of not giving attention to your thoughts. For example AUM or the sound Oooommmm has no meaning, therefore your mind will have nothing to associate with it, making it easier for you to experience the quiet within.

I Am sounds to be working really well for you

Here's a link to the Principles of Meditation and Entrainment, if you have not already read it:-

Have you tried playing Optimal Learning or Creative Flow when you do Sudoku? Your scores may go even higher

Hope this answers your question and once again, I am so pleased for the amazing results you have achieved in such a short time.

I wish you an abundance of peace and joy on your amazing journey of self discovery

Hi Pollyanna,

Thank you for your suggestions

I also wanted to add to my update that listening to Lifeflow while meditating has made it so much easier to meditate. Before, when I inevitably had thoughts intrude, I would quickly try to refocus on my mantra or breathing but found my heart-rate increasing as I would be slightly frustrated/surprised/disappointed etc that I had got so off-track. Now I'm so relaxed listening to Lifeflow, that I very calmly refocus, my heart-rate seems to stay the same and therefore I don't have a negative expectation about the "difficulty" of meditation. I look forward to meditation whereas before I would have to talk myself into it, knowing intellectually that it was good for me but not really enjoying the experience.

Ok and take care

Gina
