Default Alpha Stim

Alpha-Stim

Anyone ever tried it? I wonder what this thing does with your brain. Does it surpress thoughts? It seems to help, but it also seems that any "symptoms" one may have, come up again if one stops using the machine.

On the other hand, i could imagine that it helps to relax, which then deepends ones meditation experience, which has further positive effects.

Maybe someone here knows more about it :-)

Pan

I would like to know how it works out for you as soon as you get the chance to try it, and also how it used.

Thanks, Ghost

Just wondering Pan, why would you need to suppress thoughts?

Firstly, a person can do that perfectly fine on their own
Secondly, meditation is for relaxation anyway, is it not?

Vitamin D deficiency has become a very popular topic in lay and professional literature, and deservedly so. Vitamin D is important not only for bone health, but for normal functioning of many organs. Its deficiency appears to be much more common than it was previously suspected. Dr. Steve Wheeler has found vitamin D deficiency in 42% of 55 patients with chronic migraine headaches. He presented these findings at the recent meeting of the American Headache Society. We do not have evidence that taking vitamin D will help relieve headaches, however if a deficiency is present correcting it can certainly improve overall health of the patient. One possible cause of what appears to be increasing incidence of vitamin D deficiency is widespread use of prescription and over-the-counter antacids. Reducing stomach acidity helps relieve heartburn and other symptoms of reflux, but it may also interfere with absorption of vitamins and minerals.

Thank you VERY much for taking the time to post your suggestion. Unfortunately my headaches come from my cervical spine, or probably more exactly, from the muscles there. Theres something wrong with one of the bones of the spine, its kind of squeezed.

Still hoping that others of my family could benefit from the alpha stim and have to test out the stress reduction.

In your first post you questioned whether the Alpha Stim suppressed thoughts.

Today i have my wonderful 3-times-a-week migraine, and guess what... the alpha stim doesnt help a bit.
See if you can get hold of a copy of "Migraine and Epilepsy" by Jan de Vries. It discusses the different types of migrains and how they relate to epilepsy and how you can check (and possibly alter) your diet to help.

Hugs

Giles

Thanks Giles, gonna look into it!

Nevertheless, asking if the alpha stim supresses thoughts doesnt mean that i want or need my thoughts supressed... what a horrific idea!

Edit: Cant find it on amazon, could you link it if you have a source, please?
