Default Meditation after effects

Hello everyone, i am very new to meditation, i started about 2wks ago, at 1st i had this great feeling after meditation and even thru out the day , but as of 3 days, its like all my demons are comming out , is this normal, im a bit insercure and i feel its been more intense these days, but at the same time i feel more more at peace at a weird feeling,

i do the breathing tecnique (focusing only on breath, inhaling/exhaling), 1st week i could last 5min , 9 days later i was comfterable with 10min, just recently i been trying 15min i cant keep my eyes closed and concentrate for the life of me, most times ill open my eyes at the 5min mark, wich is weird , because i did feel good doing 10min .

Hi Sajor and welcome to the Project Meditation community,

Perhaps you are concentrating too much on the breath and causing yourself discomfort by making your breathing un-natural. The breathing of the body has a natural flow which can change from deep to light, from short to long etc. all of which is what it needs to look after the oxygenation of the blood. Focusing on the breath can cause us to try and regulate it and force it into a regular pattern, which can effect our blood oxygen levels and cause us discomfort.

Have you tried a different sort of meditation?

The free "Discover Meditation" CD's you can download from this website are good and instruct you on the technique of mantra based meditation, so perhaps give them a go?

Hey Sajor, another noob to meditation here ;D

I think I can identify with what you're experiencing. I've been meditating almost a week. I also deal with some anger / addiction issues.

After the first couple of days meditating, I've had a couple gnarly bursts of anger that were almost overwhelming; provoked some of the most intense discomfort in my own skin that I've ever had.

However, what I equate this to is being more *conscious* of your own actions (and I could very well be wrong, as I said I'm a noob just tryin to relate ;p). When I would get angry, I could, for the first time, feel myself losing control, unable to let my mind take the reigns of my anger.

This was scary and frustrating, and almost made the situation worse..

In fact, I'd never realized till then the degree to which I was not in control when I was angry. But as I gradually calmed down, I realized that being conscious of your actions instead of just acting is the first step... And that maybe this is a result of meditation

Of course I'm sure someone else is more qualified to speak on the subject than I, so I'll just leave this two cents here and be on my way before I steer someone in the wrong direction ;p
