Default Eye balls movements during meditation

Hello to all,

I am new to meditation and I need advice from members. Each and every time I sit to meditate I constantly feel that my eye balls are moving and I feel pressure on them, because of this I am not able to sit relax and just become the witness of my breath. Please guide me how to stop these eye momements and just watch the breathing.

Thanks

Aditya

Welcome to the community Aditya

The subject of what we might or what we should experience as a result of meditation is covered extremely well in the following link:-

Principles of Meditation & Entrainment

You can also download the free Discover Meditation course from the top left of the community and Michael will talk you all the way through.

Hope this helps and wish you much peace and joy

Hi Aditya,
I had a similar problem when I first starting meditating, my eyeballs had a mind of their own and seemed to want to go up into my forehead for some reason which caused a bit of strain. I came across a similar question on this sight a few years back, and the advice given really helped me. I cant find the advice now, but basically it was to bring your eye focus to a rest position, i.e. when you are sitting, perhaps an eye focus point on the floor about 3 or 4 feet in front of you, even if you meditate with your eyes closed as I do. At first I had to keep gently refocusing when I was aware they were wandering, but not for long. Now they stay put without any attention given them at all during meditation.
Hope this helps you as it did me.
Kind regards

Hi, Pollyanna,

I have also observed your advice. Really, it's very helpful for me.

This is also a problem for me when I first do meditating, it seems I cannot fully concentrate and my mind thinks of many disturbances, thanks for sharing.

Hi ralpdempsey and welcome to the community,

It is perfectly normal for the mind to wander when meditating. When you become aware of the mind doing this, simply bring your attention back to your focus of meditation/mantra and continue meditating. If you focus on the fact that your mind is wandering then you will end up distracted and worrying about that, which won't achieve anything. It's not worth worrying about... because it's normal for it to happen... just treat it as a trigger to return to awareness.

Hugs

Giles
