Not only is it normal, it is a very positive sign. Meditation enables you to step out of being caught up in your thoughts so that you can start to observe them and as Pollyanna says, just let them drift by. So by becoming aware of a lot of mind chatter is actually a positive thing, it shows that you’re stepping outside of your thoughts, definite progress

You’ll have times when mind chatter increases during mediation and also decreases, just observe it and don’t worry about it.

This could be suppressed emotions coming to the surface due to meditation, but that’s just speculation as it could be one of many things triggering them (and I'm certainly no Dr

). Having said that, just keep an eye on them and if they start to feel negative and overwhelming then it’d probably be a good idea to reduce the amount of time your meditating each day just as a precaution.
