Kundalini energy is not something necessarily related to meditation i.e. just because you meditate doesn't mean that you will get a kundalini awakening experience.
Meditation has many benefits to help you throughout your daily life, not just on an emotional level, but in a mental and even physical wellness sense as well.
When we meditate, it's perfectly normal that we can experience different sensations, including numbness, light headedness, lack of some senses, and perceive those to be the things like you describe, but also we can experience immense joy, happiness and a greater sense of being in the present moment. Meditation gives us lots of experiences, but the practice of meditation allows us to recognise that these things are just experiences that come and go and all that is needed is to acknowledge them and carry on.
