Default Advice/questions?

Has anyone listened to "The Secret Universal Mind Meditation" by Kelly Howell. It says it does not matter if you fall asleep or not, but how can meditation work if you fall asleep?

Thanks!

There's a post in the Chatter Box; "Do I have to meditate to get results?" that has some answers.

There are some technical answers to this, but really, its very simple. The most pure state of mind is one of pure awareness. Pure awareness is when you quiet the mind into a deep and profound state of just being. Whilst you are awake, the chatter of your conscious mind obscures you from this pure awareness. When you meditate, your aim is to remove this chatter in favor of a greater connectivity to your pure aware mind - that which lies behind the conscious mind. Likewise, when you are asleep, so too is your conscious mind of chatter largely removed from the picture. Remember, when you are asleep, your conscious mind slows down (it doesn't stop, it just slows down in its conscious activity - this can be measured in a physical sense as brainwave activity). Because it doesn't stop, because it just slows down, the effect of meditative audio can be just as profound and, at times, even more profound, than listening to it when you are awake - because there's nothing to obstruct it.

I hope that helps.
