Of course there are a lot of people who wondered the same in the past, that's why monastairies ( christians and buddhists alike ) took a "vow of poverty" amongst other reasons....
The way I see it there are 2 ways to forget about money problems:
1. you can seperate yourself from everyday life and become a monk in order to reach enlightenment.
This requires charity to provide you with food and shelter, and keep you healthy.
2. You can grow so rich that you don't have to worry about money anymore, and use your resources not only for the good of you, but also for the benefit of others that are in greater need. Now you can be the one
donating instead of receiving.
I am quite sure both the monk and the rich man can reach enlightenment. Since my wife probably won't allow me to become a monk

I will have to settle with becoming rich
Maybe I put it a bit simple, but I think it is important not to over-complicate life.
