Unhappy if anyone has time, some help please

reading this forum i know that many people have really suffered and so i feel a little bit of a drama queen posting this but i would really like some advice. after my early 20s being single and never the one to attract someone i finally found love at 28. the relationship had its ups and downs and the worst bit being when he wouldnt support me when i got pregnant and then left me to have an abortion alone. i know that i made a choice around that and am working hard at gaining peace around my choice, the person i was who made that choice etc. anyway 6 years later he ended the relationship and then kept in touch, meeting up, sleeping together etc (i know i was crap). then i found out he had been dating one of my closest friends for a year (whilst he slept with me) and had kept it quite. anyway after being together for a year she got pregnant, and he married her.

i have not met anyone else in the time we have been apart and i know that most of that comes from me. but i am very overweight but according to LOA i should be able to manifest someone into my life who loves me. i just dont know how you take that leap to believe, firstly that you have value enought to expect love, but secondly to let it go and truly believe that it will happen.

any advice would be welcome, i want to have a relationship that is full of meaning and love and want so much to believe that i can manifest it.

thanks a lot for your time

Default it's ok

the first thing you should do is read your comment a few times and realize that you've already mastered the law of attraction. i think it's funny when people ask "well, have you had any success manifesting anything using the law of attraction?" the answer is yes, we're all experts on the subject. we're all doing it all the time. it's one of the engineering master pieces of the universe. it's always consistent and always fair. take a step back when you're in the middle of tragedy and notice that there's a voice that jumps up out of nowhere that declares, "i knew that this was going to happen!" we've all heard this voice. there's a very important message in that statement. YOU KNOW THAT YOU'RE THE CREATOR OF IT ALL. there's so many paths you could proceed on from your current standpoint. the reason you feel such pain when you focus on attracting unconditional love is that the scared little girl inside has been conditioned to believe it's not possible to find such a love. you've allowed that little girl (your ego) to take the drivers seat. you've proved to yourself over and over that true love isn't out there. so i would suggest your next step be to seek for true love in there. the trick is to be honest with whatever comes up and love it for the part of you that it has been. even if it's an ugly monstrous thing. especially if it's a ugly monstrous thing. it's actually just a scared little girl screaming for love and acceptance. it's up to you to convince her that unconditional love is really all that exists. then just when you've forgotten that you were even looking for a mate, the right person WILL become a part of your experience. hope this helps some.

Thank you Flossie for sharing this.

First of all, never feel like a drama queen for anything you feel. We all suffer from the same disease and it is called the ego, so there is nothing big or small, there is just ego. This is the basis for my advice. If you haven't already, I suggest picking up either the Power of Now or A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle so you can get to the root of why you have all the feelings you do. It will also help in the process of acceptance so that one day you might be able to move on with not emotional baggage. All that we can do on this forum is point to a deeper truth that you need to find in yourself. To believe, it is very important that you understand how your mind works. Keep up with your meditation while you read these. I hope this helps, cheers.

Mitch

flossie,
Here you will find that issues carry no degree of importance. All issues are created equally by thoughts that are not right . . . there are no wrong thoughts.

The book that mitch suggested is a very good one. Please look into downloading Michaels free meditation program (there is a link at the top of the page) and get started on that; it is called Discover Meditation. Please come here often and hang out with positive people.

I recommend watching this video intently.

YouTube - The Deepest Truth of Human Existence - www.eckharttolle.com

This video was the first experience I had of deeper consciousness. It might do the same for you.

Hi Flossie,
I just wanted to let you know that I read your post and my heart goes out to you. The advice and support you are getting--and that you will continue to receive if you choose to stay involved with "Project Meditation" and this forum--will bless your life. And you will bless others here by sharing your stories and experiences. What you have experienced and how you choose to relate it is exactly the very thing that others are longing to hear. It will inspire them and give them courage to go on. There is an affirmation I learned from the wonderful people at Unity--here's their website: Welcome to Unity: Your spiritual resource for positive living --that I repeat as part of my "personal creed" every morning.

"I am taking responsibility for my life and calling forth my ability to respond in a new way without guilt or judgment. I am transformed now."

I wish you abundance and peace on your journey. --Keith

Dear Flossie.

I have seen some really good advices allready. Read them through a few times, and I too recommend to start meditation and read Eckhart Tolle's book "The power of Now" and/or " a new earth".

Reading your story, one of the things I notice from your story is that, by modern psychological terms, you would be diagnosed as someone with "low self-esteem".

After you have read the books of Tolle, the translation would be something like " your Ego is feeding on it's self created mysery ".

Both of them would be true.

You seem to be mixing up a few things.
Love, real love and a relationship between people, has nothing to do with being overweight.
My wife has been battling against weight problems for as long as I know her.
She is no Pamela Anderson to look at, but I love her to death.

She could be so heavy that she had to walk through the door sideways, and I would still love her.

I started noticing her when she was allready overweight, and I was attracted ( there is that word again ) to her because she is a wonderfull person, with great sense of humor, always positive and smiling, yet still a strong personality that knows what she wants.

We have been through some very rough times, but I never felt like cheating on her.
I simply love her and the thought of cheating makes me sick.

Your law of attraction will probably begin with friendship. For your plan to start working, I advice you to seek activities where you meet lots of people, and make contact with them for no other reason than wanting new friends.
You are not looking for a partner, just friends. Lots and lots of friends, that keep you busy with nice parties, visits at their and your house, and having tons of fun together.
The more people you meet, the more friends you make, the happyer you will become. They more you will value yourself as a wonderfull person, because these friends will want to hang out with you !

And finally, and read this back after you have read Tolle's books, have you ever really looked at your body ?
I know I know, you think you are ugly.
Now stop looking at the outside, and simply look at your hands.

Move your fingers, turn your hands around, and really notice what a wonderfull peace of engineering you have been given.
Those ends to your arms are there to help you with so many things, bake cakes, clean the toilet, paint the ceiling, put make-up on your face, caress a loved one, caress yourself, all this with the same set of tools, your hands !

This wonderfull gift has been given you, and these are your hands alone !
Now look at the rest of your body, and really look the way you look at your hands.
Look at the wonderfull gift of your body, all that it can do, all that it can make you feel !

You are living in a gift from the divine, and your Soul is a part of the divine.
You, your combination of Soul and Body, are a part of God !

Knowing this, how can you think of yourself badly ? How can you be worth less than someone else ?
Every person on this planet is part of the same God, is equally divine !
I have no choice but to love you, because you are a part of me like I am a part of you !

When someone talks badly to you, feel sorry for them, for they do not know that they are talking down to themselves, forgetting their connection to God by denying yours !

You truly are amazing, simply by existing, just like I am equally amazing ( I know, it sounds weird when someone says it to themselves, but you should try it ! ) and there are thousands of guys waiting to find you.

But first, you will have to work on yourself like we told you.
Have some patience, and try the meditation course ( it's free ).

Buy Eckhart Tolle's books, and start reading them.

And don't be a stranger you are always welcome here !

Mitch,
I just finished watching and listening to that video of Eckhart Tolle that you recommended on this thread. Thank you for suggesting it. In listening to Eckhart speak of our oneness with God, I was reminded of the following words of Thomas Merton:

In Finding God, I Find My True Self
The secret of my identity is hidden in the love and mercy of God. But whatever is in God is really identical with Him, for His infinite simplicity admits no division and not distinction. Therefore I cannot hope to find myself anywhere except in Him.
Ultimately the only way that I can be myself is to become identified with Him in Whom is hidden the reason and fulfillment of my existence. Therefore there is only one problem on which all my existence, my peace and my happiness depend: to discover myself in discovering God. If I find Him I will find myself and if I find my true self I will find Him.
But although this looks simple, it is in reality immensely difficult. In fact, if I am left to myself it will be utterly impossible. For although I can know something of God’s existence and nature by my own reason, there is no human and rational way in which I can arrive at that contact, that possession of Him, which will be the discovery of Who He really is and of Who I am in Him.
That is something that no man can ever do alone.
Nor can all the men and all the created things in the universe help him in this work.
The only One Who can teach me to find God is God, Himself, Alone. (New Seeds of Contemplation, pp. 35-36)

For those readers here who may be unfamiliar with Thomas Merton and his writings, I include the following information. I wrote the following several years ago.

At this time, I am reading a couple of books by the Trappist monk Thomas Merton. He lived from 1915 to 1968. The books I am reading are: The Seven Storey Mountain and New Seeds of Contemplation. Shortly before his accidental death in 1968, Thomas Merton met with his Holiness the XIVth Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama said later that he never realized Christians were spiritual until he met Merton. Here was a Christian monk completely unlike any Christian the Dalai Lama had ever met before. He found openness in Merton rarely seen in other Christians.

Following are some quotes, poetry, and other writings by Thomas Merton:

“The deepest level of communication is not communication, but communion . . . It is beyond words . . .
We are already one.”

Thomas Merton

Prayer of Thomas Merton
My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where it will end.

Nor do I really know myself,
and the fact that I think that I am following your will
does not mean that I am actually doing so.
But I believe that the desire to please you
does in fact please you.

And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing.
I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.
And I know that if I do this
you will lead me by the right road
though I may know nothing about it.

Therefore will I trust you always
though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death.
I will not fear, for you are ever with me,
and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.

Default Dear Flossie

Dear Flossie,

The most important thing according to the Law of Attraction (in my opinion) is that you are the creator of you own universe, and that can be a very hard thing to do, because it is directly against anything we were thought in the so called "old school"

What i have done to begin solve this problem was to begin looking into the science of law of attraction, because even though i believe in the law of attraction, i also believe in Physics and Science. New science though have proven so much of what old Seer's, Spirituals, Monks etc. always have believed in. There is some really interesting books[1] and movies[2] out here that will show you some of this new science.

I do not have the ability to manifest what ever i want yet, but i can honestly feel that after i have getting introduced to the LOA i have had more of everything i decided to have, and a little less of what i don't want to see in my life, sometimes i still feel that life is Missouri and nothing goes right, but i can really feel a difference from when i get introduced to the LOA.

One of the ways that you can manifest more of what you like and less of what you don't like is to create a Vision Board or if you want it to take it a step further create a Mind Movie[3] i strongly advise you to take a look at the Website .

I do wish that my reply helped you just a little, and may you attract and manifest what you desire.

- Anton Hansen

-This is only a very small part of what there is out there, these are some of the items that i found interesting-

[1] = "The Divine Matrix By Gregg Braden" (Authors Website) A really nice book about the science around LOA, haven't finished it yet but i have inspired be a lot so far! Chek it out

[2] = "What The Bleep Do We Know" (Youtube) (Official Website) a really interesting movie about the science of the LOA, havn't watched it to the end yet, but what i have seen just confirms scientifically what i believe in.

[3] "Mind Movie / Vision Board" (Official Website) This tool is truly amazing, what you have to do is basically put pictures that show what you want to attract in your life, it is very amazing. Check some out at youtube as well. Just search for Mind Movies
