Smile Uncontrollable Shaking

When I meditate, It feels like my eyeballs are being sucked to the back of my head then my eyes flutter and I start shaking uncontrollable in my head neck and torso. I focus on the mantra instead of the shaking and then the shaking increases but after what feels like passing a "barrier", it find deeper meditation and more light emanating from my forehead as a expanding circle. as I go deeper, I shake again. Also I am feeling a fear of death when i get deeper.

Should I stop meditating? am I convulsing whats going on?

Thanks for the help

Hi adonislove and welcome to the community

apologies for late reply - have just arrived back from a last minute week away for a special birthday holiday for my husband.

Few questions for you...

What kind of mantra are you using to meditate with and are you using entrainment? Do you suffer from epilepsy?

In the meantime, here's a link to some really helpful information about meditation and entrainment:-

This could also be that you are straining too hard to close your eyes. Often, people new to meditation, will try and force their eyes to be shut hard, and sometime also roll their eyes upward when meditating, as if it somehow helps to reach the meditative state. This mainly causes eye strain and pains, and could be having an effect on the nerves around the eyes which I guess could be the cause of the shaking...

So, perhaps just try and relax a little more, let the eyes just restfully close and meditate without trying too hard.

Hugs

Giles
