Default falling asleep

Sometimes I try to meditate but within a few minutes I fall asleep, according to other people snoring too. Mostly for that reason I don't go to meditations any more; I don't need to drive this distance just to fall asleep. Then I forget about meditation and go on with te rest of the day(s). Some of the friends keep saying that meditation is a must, what I really need and I need to practice every possibility to do so, others tell me that I don't feel it is 'my thing' I should not try it. When I take a walk I go to the woods which give me a better feeling of meditation-like but most of the time I just don't know anymore. I need help concerning meditation.

Welcome to the community Crystal Chief

Don't worry, I used to fall asleep too in the beginning and I also startled myself sometimes with snoring Fortunately, I was in my own room at home so it didn't matter.

I honestly think that many perspectives on meditation actually make it sound far more complicated than it actually is.

You can download the free "Discover Meditation" from the top left of the community and Michael will guide you through the simple process while you are in the comfort of your own home.

To give yourself a few minutes a day in the "forgotten" quiet place within, gives you the peace from busy life everyone needs.

All it takes is a little discipline to set aside a few minutes a day for yourself.

Remember practise makes perfect. Don't worry about it; don't have expectations; just listen and enjoy. Give it a little time and you'll be amazed at the difference it makes to you.

Look forward to hearing how you progress and wish you much peace and joy
