Default Guided meditation + lifeflow

Hello, I've been using a guided meditation track called "The Core Energy Technique" by Kevin Schoeninger along with Lifeflow meditation 10 for almost two months now. I was wondering if it was a good idea to combine these two? I play the guided meditation track on itunes and lifeflow on vlc and let the two play simultaneously as I meditate.

The guided meditation technique starts off with some cues to get me to sit in a straight, comfortable position telling me to imagine a heavy weight attached to my tailbone and a string attached to the top of my head, etc. Then it tells me to focus on my breath and imagine any thoughts or tension to be cleared by my breath. In a span of 20 minutes, I'm guided into focusing on my lower abdomen, then my heart, and finally my mind and back down basically telling me to feel gratitude and trust in my heart; feel clarity, spaciousness, and awareness in my mind; imagine my breath as life energy traveling up and down my spine clearing/cleansing my body.

However, all the while I'm listening and doing whatever I'm guided into doing.. I feel like I'm trying too much and I get confused and wonder what he means whenever he says things like "become aware of awareness itself." I'm confused if I'm even doing the cues in the correct way. I'm pretty new to meditating, however I'm very consistent and passionate about it and do it daily regardless of whether or not I can see any tangible benefits I gain from this practice.

So I just wanted some advice from this community. Is it a good idea to combine this guided meditation track with lifeflow? Is it even a good idea to use this type of guided meditation? Would you recommend that I do something else or stick with the basic Discover Meditation? Thank you!
