Trancendental meditation was introduced to the western world in 1958 by a guru named Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Various other techniques may require an hour plus to practice and may also require considerably more consideration and contemplation. 15-20 minutes twice a day, sitting comfortably with the eyes closed is all that is needed in trancendental .
