Meditation Garden Benches

Meditation garden benches are extremely versatile and can be used indoors or out. When you think of meditation garden benches it is so easy to imagine relaxing and contemplating in a beautiful warm garden surrounded by flowers and butterflies and listening to the singing of birds and nature.

Meditation benches will create correct posture and can make an enormous difference to the depth and pleasure of your meditation. Achieving the correct posture will create better breathing patterns and will prevent discomfort allowing you to experience a deeper more relaxed meditation session

Meditation garden benches add a kneeling variation to sitting, but can be hard and uncomfortable on your knees. Bench Cushions provide extra padding which some people prefer. You can choose from buckwheat hulls or kapok fillings to name just a couple. Also, these cushions make excellent lumbar support pillows when sitting in uncomfortable chairs, including cars. Alternatively you could use an ordinary garden bench with a meditation cushion for lumbar support.

Some meditation benches have a curved bottom surface of the legs to allow you to adjust spine and pelvis alignment by rocking forward or backward creating a perfect stress free position. Meditation garden benches are particularly helpful as an alternative to cross-legged sitting when flexibility is restricted.

There are meditation garden benches which fold up and come with a cushioned carrying bag. These are great if you want to meditate in a peaceful and natural environment by the sea or in the forest.

Quite often people create their own special sanctuary in the garden by creating a winding meditation path which leads to a lovely tranquil area with a simple water feature (the sound of gently running water is always relaxing) and some lilac and/or mint plants, both of these plants attract butterflies which are ancient symbols of the soul. This kind of setting would obviously be a magnificent setting

The more comfortable you are during meditation, will result in all your awareness and focus being about your meditation session which will result in you achieving a much deeper and more relaxed state.
