    Hey Everyone

I recently started chakra meditation. While I was meditating I started to feel a lot of emotion (sadness) and started crying, I was at the time focusing on the root chakra.

Im not sure what does this mean?
Could you please give some feedback with your opinion on this.

Hi Cassandra and welcome to the community :)

Supressed emotions sometimes surface through meditation. We all suppress many emotions and distract ourselves in a variety of ways to avoid facing them.

When they surface, they are always accompanied with a sensation (e.g. knot in your stomach, lump in your throat) Now you have the opportunity to welcome and unemotionally observe the sensation with childlike curiosity. Don't get carried away with the story your mind is telling you when this happens. Just observe the sensation - by doing this, you should find that it slowly dissolves and no longer hampers your life anymore.

A little regular daily meditation will allow you to gradually release supressed emotions and this is unbelievably freeing. For me personally, I felt like the weight of the world was lifted from my shoulders.

I hope this helps and wish you much peace and joy :) :) :)
