Social Anxiety and Lifeflow

    I wonder if anyone could help me with this. Can Lifeflow help with social anxiety? I am in my mid forties and I have suffered from social anxiety all my life. It manifests itself in feeling uncomfortable and uneasy around other people, and feeling overwhelmed by other people's energy, drive, social skills and so on. And by now, I can see that it has become a self-fulfilling prophecy over the years which has really limited my life experiences; shying away from relationships and job opportunities and so on.

    I have read extensively in the field of self-improvement over the years and I guess that the most important thing I have learnt is the law of attraction and the importance of focusing on what we want in life rather than obsessing on personal limits and hurts. Trying to implement that in my every day life has had some success recently( I have just launched a new internet-based enterprise), and the very fact that I can now see an idea which first germinated in my mind at the start of the year is now out there in the physical world has been a great experience. But the social anxiety still seems very hard to shift: these patterns of behaviour go back to childhood, and I can also see that they go back further than that since my mother has exactly the same problem.

    I have been using Lifeflow for about three months and I really enjoy my daily meditative practice. Are there any specific Lifeflow tracks which can help with my social anxiety issues, or is it going to be more of a cumulative effect over time?

    Also consider looking at Emotional Freedom Techniques website (http://www.emofree.com/)as they have plenty of success stories relating to using EFT for social anxiety and you can download the manual for free and try it for yourself.

    EFT is a wonderful tool that has been of great assistance with some issues for me.

    I recommend it to anyone.

    Do you use it on a regular basis, whenever you feel emotional imbalances in your body? And does it help every time? After reading on it, I really find it hard to believe.

    I use Freeway-CER which is similar (although I trained as an EFT practitioner first), and yes, I do use it whenever the need arises (and I remember). e.g. if I get a headache then I'll tap with EFT; if some issue from the past comes up triggered by some situation I'm in now, I'll tap with EFT. It's possible to do it discretely (or in the mind too) so it can be done at the desk at work or anywhere.

    When I trained in EFT, the first thing I treated myself for, as part of our training practice (we practiced in pairs) was my spider phobia. It was the strangest feeling afterwards to not feel the fear any more, and it was put to the test several days later when my girlfriend got a spider (she's no fear of them) and asked me if i wanted to hold it... I did... and I was fine... no fear.

    Works wonders. The thousands (if not millions) of people now using it around the world are a testament to it's effectiveness as you can see from the info/case studies etc. on the website.

    Best thing is to try it yourself !
    If you have something troubling you, try to give a number to how uncomfortable it makes you feel ( I hit my toe and the hurt is about an 8 )
    Give EFT a go on the pain, and after that, try to honestly give it a grade again
    ( I hit my toe but after one round of EFT it now is more like a 6 )
    EFT again, ( now it is a 2 )

    Until you reach zero, or a number low enough to feel comfortable with.

    The other way of measuring is to say that the extremity of feeling you get at the start is 10 and work down from there so all further scoring is based on that scale. Starting with 10 gives you the full scale to work with, but either way will work though.

    Apart from all this, when your personal depth grows, you will be less and less affected of approval and disapproval, pleasure and pain. You will gain a deep still center which everyday events cannot touch, only make shallow waves on the surface. The deeper this "inner you" grows, the more resistant you become to fear, seduction and manipulation.
