I get no stage three or stage four sleep. I go through stages one and two and then straight to REM stage. As a sleep tech I know how important stage three is to heal. I have Firbromyalgia and need that healing time. Listening to CD's of delta waves is not helping. Prescription sleep aids don't help either. I am looking fro anything and everything to help me achive deep sleep. Any ideas?

Many times a problem can be brought on by any number of situations or events totally unrelated to the problem at hand. I've always found that a holistic approach has worked best for me. In other words treat the whole organism and it will function to the best of its ability. Trying to pinpoint a cure for a problem leads one to focus to much on that problem and one loses sight of the bigger picture.
That said, you are here asking this question on the LifeFlow site obviously grabbing at straws to try to get sleep. Being without sleep is miserable at best, I know. I say give LifeFlow a try. It seems to help all manner of things. It certainly won't hurt. It does take some time and effort on your part. It is not like taking a pill and going about your day.
However, others with sleep problems have had results in a short period of time. That said, all sleep problems are not created equal. It may take awhile. I strongly reccomend LifeFlow to anyone looking to live a more productive and peaceful lifestyle.

Hi MaryAnne. Welcome to the forum.

You say that you're using Delta CD's and they're not helping you find deep sleep. Several things come to mind.

    1. Entrainment encourages your mind to reach certain states but there is effort involved as well. With Lifeflow there's a gradual deepening as we go from Alpha CD's through Theta, and finally Beta. If you haven't gone through the progression by meditating with each level, it's unlikely that your mind would be able to reach delta unless you're an extraordinary yogi with a lot of meditation experience and ability.

    2. Perhaps entrainment isn't enough by itself. Have you thought of coupling it with another method to decode the mind/emotional conditioning that may be affecting your sleep? I've recently started using The Sedona Method Sedona Method (official site) The Secret self-help program; self-improvement technique and am discovering a delightful unburdening of old patterns so that I feel much lighter and brighter. :) I'm using the book The Sedona Method by Hale Dwoskin but there's a whole audio program if that's more your style. And of course there are other modalities as well. (EFT, NLP and I'm sure there are people in the forum who can suggest others.)

So good luck, don't give up and think about trying Lifeflow, etc!

Go online and do a search for magnesium oil. It's not really oil, but it has a slippery texture on the skin so they call it oil. What you're looking for is pure magnesium chloride in a suspension of purified water. Norman Shealy makes a very good lotion with magnesium oil. You can purchase a bottle of it on Amazon.com for about $20 US currency.

There is a lot of research that suggests most of the world's population, especially in the industrialized countries, is severely magnesium deficient. Our soils are highly depleted so food contains barely a fraction of what we actually need for good health. Oral magnesium supplements are more or less useless as they pass through the body almost totally unabsorbed, some more so, some less depending on the form of magnesium used in the supplement. Magnesium chloride is the form most readily utilized by the human body.

Magnesium oil is rubbed into the skin either as the raw oil or in a combination product with a carrier like grapeseed oil or Shealy's lotion. It's absorbed transdermally through the skin so a great deal of it successfully gets into the body. In the case of the lotion I mentioned you would rub about a teaspoon of it over as much of your skin as you can get it once in the morning and once right about bedtime. Magnesium calms the nervous system, steadies the heart, causes smooth muscle tissue to relax, reduces stress and anxiety, and if you're deficient (and unless you happen to live near a mineral spring in which you bathe every day you probably are,) it will almost certainly have a positive effect on your sleep cycle.

Most people I know who try it find they experience positive benefits literally from the first time they put some on, and I mean within minutes they feel the stuff going to work. I suppose the effect depends on just how deficient you are to begin with but my own personal experience was rather startling and unexpected. Magnesium deficient bodies just drink the stuff in and respond to it almost immediately.

There is a company that mines a very pure, contaminant-free magnesium chloride crystal-flake from a 250 million year old bed about a mile underground in Germany. They sell magnesium oil but they also sell the raw magnesium crystal-flakes. They suggest you use their magnesium oil for applying to the skin and use the flakes in foot soaks like you would epsom salts (which are another, less bio-available form of magnesium,) but I've found you can get the flakes and dissolve them in purified or distilled water to make your own magnesium oil and it works just fine for only a fraction of the cost of buying prepared magnesium oil. A 6.5 lbs. container of the crystal-flakes is available for about $55 US currency here: Ancient Minerals | Ultra Pure Magnesium Oil, Magnesium Gel, Magnesium Flakes and with the small amount you will need to mix with water that much will last you for probably a year or more. It's a mineral so it never "goes bad" or loses its shelf life.

If you choose to make your own magnesium oil you might find it difficult to get exact information on the ratio of flakes to water so let me save you a lot of search time and suggest you use 1 tablespoon of the crystal-flakes in 3 oz. of purified water (about 100 ml. for you metric folks). In a small pecentage of people the mineral on their skin causes a little bit of itching or irritation. If you're one of those people then double the amount of water to 6 oz. and 1 tablespoon of crystal-flakes.

It can't hurt, will probably help, and may even solve your sleep problem, so you might want to give it a try.

    Dear friend!
You always give me wonderful surprises ... I take magnesium regularly - my doctor advises me to - and vitamin D . But I didn't know this other form of using magnesium. I'll try it soon, and tell my doctor. She says that we do not really respect the fact that we ARE body, too, and that it has specific needs. And if we do not attend to this, many times our body will appear with very disagreeable situations.
As I told you some days ago, my sweet niece is very ill, and my doctor analysed her situation: unfortunately, she sensed that something was wrong, and didn't look for help then. Now... we can only hope for the best - which we don't know exactly what it is.
Saint Theresa d'Ávila said that she always prayed for those who had their prayers answered... so we only pray for the best for our niece - be it what it may.
This is not passivity, but respect. And the poem cited by you says it too.
    Kind regards!

Ask your doctor about adding calcium bentonite clay to your health supplements. In addition to adding minerals to your body, bentonite is one of the absolute best detoxification agents known. The benefits of clay consumption are phenomenal.

Vitamin D3, by the way, is truly amazing. Most people don't know this but we've only had the knowledge to really figure out what D3 does for us for about 10 years. About 90% of what we know about vitamin D has been discovered during the last 10 years. That means if your doctor earned his or her MD degree more than a decade ago, unless they have kept up on their reading of nutritional medicine (many don't) then they are probably not aware of all the incredible benefits vitamin D can bring to us.
