    Hello,

It's been awhile since I have been on the forum. I tried to download some of my tracks today(LF 10, LF 5, LF 4), but keep getting the message "Safari cannot download this file)".

Some information that may be relevant: I no longer have a PC, but am using an IPAD 2, as a stand alone device. Is this why I can't download the tracks?

I also notice that my device doesn't come with Itunes, but a different music provider. This seems strange to me, that an iPad wouldn't just come with Itunes. I can put all my other music on it, but can't download these tracks. Could this be the reason I can't download the tracks?

If any of the other members or moderators of a technical persuasion could comment I would be grateful.

    Respectfully,

    Foojoy

I'm not from support, but I think there's something with IPad's that prevent files from being downloaded via the web browser (as a security measure to prevent virus' etc.) and files can only be downloaded via officially recognised sites using official software such as iTunes etc.

As far as I'm aware it's not something that the websites can do anything about, it's a known 'issue' with iPads.

    Hi Foojoy,

Giles is correct (Thanks for the input Giles), iPads and iPhones are not allowed to directly download form the web for security (This is great... until you want to be able to do this).

There are many apps that you can use from the app store that allow you to do this, I use "Download lite". The free version is normally all I need as I use my pc to control most content on my device.

Here is a link that will hopefully help Downloading to Apple device

This is just the one I use but there are many others (even some that will allow you to import the tracks to your normal media library after you have downloaded them.(but most of these where not free)

I was slightly confused by how you manage to download music to your iPad without iTunes, if you are using a download manager app already and you are not able to download the tracks please let me know and i can try and look into this for you. :)
