    Hi Everyone,

After listening to the sample cd for about 2 months my husband bought me the LifeFlow program as a birthday present. I am very prone to anxiety and it is one of the reasons I really want to work through this program. I found the sample cd beautiful and relaxing but I am finding the first cd, #10 to be less relaxing for me. I find sound of the heartbeats in the background to be a little disconcerting, which may be due to the fact that during anxiety attacks the fast beating of my heart causes me a lot of worry. Has anyone ever had issues with this? Will it improve? I also had a major panic attack, which I havent had in years a few days after starting the program. Can this happen? Will it improve? I really do not want to discontinue the program, I believe it can really help. I should say that we also had my parents here for a month long visit during this time and having my step father here did stir up old baggage and resentments from when I was a kid. I would appreciate anyone's imput. Thanks :)

    Hello Piper

I'm a fellow anxiety/panic attack sufferer. I find that cds 7,6,5 and 4 work best for me. They stimulate the brain to release serotonin which is beneficial in alleviating anxiety and depression.

    Peace and healing thoughts

Thank you Boris. I look forward to working on those discs. It looks as though I was also doing too much meditation for a beginner and apparently that can cause things to come up too fast for me to deal with. I am just glad to feel hopeful again. Have a wonderful day!

I'm somewhat comforted to read these postings about increased anxiety. I used Lifeflow 10 for a month and yes, my anxiety actually increased. I'm onto 9 now and my response seems to be normalizing although it is really too early to tell. I've decided to just stay with it, meditate a little less (20 minutes instead of 40) and play Lifeflow 10 as well as the extra alpha and theta tracks on my stereo just as an ambient backgrpind when I am reading and writing.I'm curious to see what happens.

It's wonderful to witness the support and hope you give to each other regarding anxiety and panic attacks. I have not personally suffered from anxiety and/or panic attacks, however I realise just how many people do. Looking back, I realise how much I used to suppress emotions sub-consciously, how much I used to worry over things outside of my control and how stressed out and tired I used to feel. I used to constantly feel my head nodding in the afternoons when working at my computer, my neck and shoulders were incredibly tense and I rarely got a full nights sleep.

At that time, I just thought this was normal, part of getting older and so I just got on with life. I had no idea that my perspective on so many things could change so dramatically over time. Letting go of all the supressed emotions has been like lifting the weight of the world off my shoulders.

I felt relief pretty much from the beginning of meditating with LF although I am aware that it takes some a while longer. I do remember LF7 being a great milestone for me. For those who it takes longer, I really admire your commitment to yourself. Here's a link to a thread which may be of help to you:-

I look forward to hearing about the changes you begin to notice in your daily lives and I wish you an abundance of peace and joy :) :) :)

I suffered from panic attacks and was able to control them - really eliminate them - using guided visualization. I began doing the tracks of another program and found after four days that the panic attacks came back - and strong! Trying to let them run their course, but they are quite a problem, particularly when they hit at work. Trying these tracks to see if they help.

Hi Piper, I am new here as well and suffer Anxiety, Depression and Insomnia and I found the same thing, the Intro mp3 was a lot easier to listen and meditate to compared to LF 10 with the same reaction to the background heartbeat sound. But I am just doing shorter meditation sessions now and it seems not so bad, I figure that the further I go the better it will get.

Have you tried turning the volume down low?

The heartbeat sounds are the binaural beats, but they don't have to be that consciously audible for the brain to perceive them and be effective.

    Hugs
