Hello, as a new bee I'm trying to get everything ready for this exiting adventure ! I'll get myself a pair of over-the-ears headphones, as opposed to my ear buds. Understand that dealing with the delicate nature of the active frequencies requires a neutral and stable earphone. But, are there any recommendations here? Could I go out and buy any cheap headband headphone, or should I invest in something more hi-fidelity? Also, for the sound in the room through speakers experience, can that be a small kitchen radio, or are there benefits from using bigger sound systems?

    Thanks, Oystein

For headphones... 2nd from the bottom on the technical FAQ's:

    ;)

For the over-speakers experience I'm not sure, but I think it should work with any player as long as the sounds aren't being distorted or changed too drastically.

    Hi Oystein,

As regards headphones these are the ones recommended by Project meditation Sony MDR-XD200 Stereo Headphones. When you use these headphones, make sure that you switch off the movie setting.

I have been using these since i started with Lifeflow eleven months ago and have no complaints. If you go onto the "Frequently Asked Questions" section of the site you can pick up sorts of useful information.

As regards listening to the tracks over speakers I simply use the basic speakers on my computer or else an i-pod base station (not a very expensive one at that) and again the results are just fine.

I know that some would say that the higher tech ( and possibly more expensive ) system you use the better the results. I am not convinced that that is the case but it will be interesting to see what other advice you get.

    Best wishes to you,

    Keith

Although ear buds are generally not recommended, i have had excellent results with scull candy ear buds (smokin` buds is what i think they`re called) I use the SC ear buds for LF when comfort or great isolation (due to background noises) is required. Out of house i always use those buds. And they`re fantastic for music too ;)

From my experience, the Sony headphones that are recommended by PM are great sounding, and perfect for LF, they are really uncomfortable. They headpiece is built like cheap plastic and it creaks when you move around a bit. I've used these conditions as a reminder to stay mindful, so it's a blessing and a curse haha.

I'd recommend you try out some headphones or do some research on the comfort of a few headphones. I read reviews on the Sony one and many of them said they were comfortable, but a considerable amount also mentioned how uncomfortable they are. If there are a noticable amount of people saying it, I would bet that you should check another pair.

But I would recommend over the ear headphones over earbuds anyday. Though I have not tried in-ear earbuds which I would assume can work as well. You may be interested in Nixon headphones
