Ok, I've been using lifeflow 10 for a week now, and contrary to the claims and the glowing reports from everyone here I am very confused to find that using it has made no noticable difference to my meditation at all. It's not that I was expecting some miracle to come through my headphones and meditate for me, but I did imagine that i would go at least a little deeper than previously. Can anyone tell me why this might not be working for me? I'm a single mum and I'm afraid I can't afford to purchase lifeflow if its not going to work. I use it during sitting meditation that I do during the day, under 'perfect' meditation conditions (if there is such a thing, which i doubt). Please help, if you can......

Hi Cate and welcome to the community. After reading your other posts, I think you should take your time with meditation and be gentle with yourself.

Although I really enjoyed meditating with LifeFlow from the beginning, if you look through the community, you will find that some people didn't feel any great benefits until they moved through to LF7

We're all different Cate - we all bring a unique and total set of belief systems along with a huge variety of expectations with us to meditation.

Have you tried any of the guided meditations?

Also the gratitude exercise on the free course is extremely powerful when practised regularly - here's a link to a video Michael made

Hope you enjoy it and I wish you much peace and joy :) :) :)

Actually Pollyanna is quite the lady ;)

Check out this link, only a few days ago a new member of this community said somewhat similar things. I think the responses from the regular members say it all ( mind you, we are all happy satisfied customers, and do not get paid for answering on this forum ) In fact, all the Moderater stuff that Pollyanna and other moderators like myself do here is purely voluntary.

Also, even if the free sample doesn't do anything for your meditation (and it didn't for me either), it still keeps building neural connections between the brain hemispheres down near the top of your brain stem. It is a bit like with muscles: You can't do some unfamiliar training and not have the muscles begin to adapt, they will do that whether you want to or not. New nerve connections can take from half an hour to a couple weeks to build, depending on the distance, so that part of it is not something you can feel while you meditate.

I learned this the hard way actually, by overdosing on brainwave entrainment, playing first an hour of Holosync and then two hours of LifeFlow demo. Don't try this at home: I was not fit for driving the next day and had two hair-raising nightmares over the next week. But I did not feel anything at all until near the end of the third hour.

I'm glad to hear that I wasn't expecting immediate results but there were times that I am in a more positive brimming state than there are other times I feel no different now that I read this I'm glad I can continue down this journey knowing it is not for naught.

I have started doing 40 minutes of meditating once day now it has been relaxing there are some difficulties but its part of the journey I will continue to life flow and guided meditations as well knowing that I will reach a state of stillness and peace.

do you find it works better if you lay down or sit up.

I have been laying down, but mainly as i fall asleep  am i supposed to?? but i dont want to find that im wasting my time if im laying down.

look forward to hear what you all have to say :D

    Hi BS,

Typically our bodies take laying down as a signal to sleep, so it's quite common for us to fall asleep if we meditate like this. Some people manage to stay away, but it will also depend on the time of day and how tired you already are (i.e. how much your body needs to rest).

I personally sit when meditating, in a comfortable chair, but one which keeps me upright, supports my lower back but not my neck, then if I should ever start to fall asleep, I'll know about it and it will trigger me back to meditation (not that this happens so much now I'm more used to meditating).

Some people use various traditional meditation postures; kneeling or cross legged, but these can be uncomfortable for some people.

Try different things and see what suits you best.

    Hugs

    Giles
