    Hello guys,

I have a passion for personal development which I guess I share with you in this forum ;)

Recently, I came a across Modafinil, a vigilance promoting drug that, while usually prescribed for cases of narcolepsy or shift work sleep disorder, is quite popular amongst students who want to be more efficient.

First of all, I'm very sceptical about the usage of these kinds of drugs as I want to be able to change my mental state at will and don't want to be more or less constrained to one frequency range (which in this case is obviously beta).

But here is my question: Could anyone explain to me how Modafinil works from a brainwave perspective? And how does it affect one's ability to enter deeper brainwave stages?

    All the best,

Welcome to the community Alex :)

I think you're wise to be sceptical about the usage of these kind of drugs. Here is a link about the benefits of resting a few minutes a day in specific brainwave states and how certain frequencies can be played while studying:-

Here's a post from a member and how she aced her exams:-

    Finally, here's a Doctors recommendation:-

Hope this helps you and your student friends and wish you much peace and success in 2014 :) :) :)
