Mom and son are both fine, came home the same day, and my life has never felt so complete as it feels now.

    Just thought I'd share :D

    Congratulations, Edwin!

I'd noticed your being quiet on the forum and wondered if this might be happening. So happy that all are well. Warm, warm wishes. Margaret

    Thanks guys and gals !

His name is Yrian, a Norwegian name.

How can anyone say that he or she doesn't believe in a higher power, or God, when they look into a baby's eyes ?

Recently I came across an old Māori TV program where an elder was giving a talk to his
whānau (family) I will try a paraphrase best I can.

    The word
whānau means both to give birth and family, and hapū means both pregnant and clan, illustrating the significance of pregnancy and childbirth to Māori

    Due to the
tapu (Sacred) of childbirth it was believed that while in pregnancy the child in the womb belonged to God (which I do not know) the baby was part of God, who started it all, the Whakapapa, (see below).

When the Baby was born, God watched for 7 days. God then handed the baby to the Mother and watched no more, never to interfere, only to wait....

    Whakapapa

Whakapapa (genealogy) forms the foundation of Māori philosophy. Birth is the instrument by which whakapapa is created. All things are related through whakapapa – the gods, natural phenomena, humans and all other living things. Whakapapa provides a way of understanding the universe and its past, present and future.

    Peace :)
