Hello and a very warm welcome!

    New to meditation

    Hello,
    I'm completely new to meditation, and have only been trying for a couple of weeks. I have alopecia and have been looking for alternatives to medication for stress/anxiety.
    I've pretty much always been "close to blowing my top" , but have found myself really at the edge over the last couple of years.
    Like pretty much everybody else in the world, job, family, health all come into play each day.
    One thing I do enjoy about 5 days a week, is taking my dog for a walk in the mornings. I live in Canada, in the Prairies, so this can be quite something in the winter when it's -30 Celsius.
    I've recently stated listening to Lifeflow 9 as I take our walks. I find it relaxes me and when walking by the lake we live near, I feel like I'm listening to it instead of a recording.
    Is this alright to do? I love listening to calming music/sounds while I walk, but want to make sure I'm not doing something that shouldn't be done.

    Sounds lovely where you live. There's one thing we have in common already, except for the -30 Celsius Brrrrrrr

    I love cycling and walking through the woods each day with my dog. It's so peaceful and there's so much to experience through all the seasons. It's not a time I ever wear headphones because my dog is a very large breed and I need to be aware of a deer or two suddenly crossing our path.

    LifeFlow is very powerful and should never be played while operating machinary or driving, however, I'm sure it's fine to play while you enjoy your walk.

    Thank you for the information. You were right, it certainly is a lot of reading. :)

    As I was reading through it, I was listening to Classical Magic, and I realized that that CD might be what I was looking for to listen as I walked. I never even thought of it before. I just wanted something calming and relaxing to add to the enjoyment of our walks.

    I do live in a rural area, and deer are plentiful, but we keep to the roads, and usually only see them in the distance. My Collie/Shepard knows I love too look at them, so tries to stay quite. She knows I'm a nature lover.

    This has been a long time coming

    Hey guys!

    My name is Paul and I have been meditating for about a year on and off. Sometimes more frequently than others. I can tell the difference of the days where I have quiet time and when I don't. Something feels missing. I am so excited to learn what I can from this fantastic site - sometimes I feel so alone and there aren't many people to talk to about how I feel about things. I've been thinking about joining a forum for I don't know how long. But the time is NOW! Meditation has turned my life in so many different directions and has pointed me to things I never thought I would be "into." Looking forward to talking to you all!

    Hello everyone! ^_^

    I'm glad to have found this site. I used to be involved regularly in zen meditation as well as the meditation that is included in the study of martial arts, but life happens and some time has passed since.

    I'm excited to discover the digital forms of meditation and self-hypnosis. Many areas of self-improvement will be helpful to me, and even if my spirit were perfectly enlightened (hey, one can dream!) I would still enjoy it.

    Thank you for making this site and the forums - I'll probably be annoying you with incessant and diverse questions before long! J/K, it's great to meet you all! : )

    Hi Harte,

    The hard copy of Lifeflow is, as far as I'm aware, the 60 minute versions of the lifeflow tracks. If you want the 40 minute versions of the tracks that people get from the downloads, I'm sure you can contact the support team who will provide them to you if you've purchased the hard copies. They also do a 20 minute version which is available on request, and you can even request the 60 minute versions if you've purchased the downloadable versions. I think I've now got the 20, 40 and 60 minute versions after purchasing the downloadables (40 minute versions).

    The support/admin staff are very helpful... you just have to ask them. ;)

    Hi everyone my name is Bo Jackson (not the sports legend i get that a lot.) I just started my meditation practices and have only practiced a few times, and I already feel like I'm becoming better at handling stressful situations. I mean it's not perfect, but I understand its going to take time to become stress free. My girlfriend Megan, has started meditation as well. So far we both have loved it, but wish our friends would be a little more open to the practice. Sadly they seem to be close minded to the whole situation. That's why I decided to join here to get help from experts, and be able to share my experiences without people looking at me funny. Thanks a lot for letting me be apart of your network

    I purchased Lifeflow several years ago but was unable to find them. I just have no idea where they have gone. So……..I just repurchased the CDs and intend to be faithful this time around. I am welcoming any suggestions and help you may have to offer.

    you can download the free Discover Meditation from the top left of the community unless you have another technique that you prefer of course. It's a great course that has helped many here.
