    Hi all,
Just wanted to share some advice that I have found useful in my own life recently. And hopefully to gain some extra advice from others on the same matter

Pretty much a healthy body compliments a healthy mind.

I find my most successful meditation comes when I have
    1. Gone for a jog (at least built up a sweat)
    2. Got sunlight
    3. Include fruit/less greasy meals in diet
    4. Had a decent sleep

and then to really appreciate my meditation,
I try to go out and do something each day or have a conversation with someone.
Often I can feel the benefits of my meditation while listening to someone talk to me. Pre-meditation I may feel irritated by some topics, or bored by stories, annoyed at lengthy explanations etc. After a good meditation I will often be able to sit and listen in peace, without feeling bothered at any level.

Just experiencing the world and watching your reactions, comparing it to past reactions is a good indicator of your 'level' of peace of mind.
Often you will not even feel the need to compare your levels of peace of mind. You will be too happy appreciating whatever moment you are in. (Probably the best sign)

If you are having trouble/losing faith in your meditation. I would suggest trying this slight lifestyle change.

It's kind of simple but easily overlooked when your mind is already caught in a negativity trap.

    Hope it helps someone.

    Peace

    Hi Brozen,

    Good tips...
I would say that they are just as conducive to a healthy lifestyle, not just for meditation

    Peace :)

    Hi Brozen,

Agree with your suggestions. Additions from my perspective include gratitude and thanks before and after sitting as well as trying to enter into the meditation with a clean slate. That is, finishing unfinished business that takes me off centre before I sit.
