Just stay open, quiet and alert
and the unfolding work of Grace
    will be recognised and felt,
    within and without,
    as harmony and love

    in service to itself

Let go of the need to understand anything, so that you're truly present in this moment. Just right now. Just what is.

This is my "depressed stance." When you're depressed, it makes a lot of difference how you stand. The worst thing you can do is straighten up and hold your head high because then you'll start to feel better. If you're going to get any joy out of being depressed, you've got to stand like this. ~Charlie Brown

We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have. ~Frederick Keonig

Rather than putting effort into trying to change who you are, simply let go of what you are not. The former takes a lifetime, the latter can be done in the blink of an eye.

Thanks Pollyanna that quote really hit me hard with things in my life at the moment. Its very true indeed...:)

"Knowledge is learning something every day. Wisdom is letting go of something every day.' Zen Proverb.

"You will not be punished for your anger. You'll be punished by your anger."

    A couple of goofy ones

My 13 year old wrote these on her denim shorts today (yeah, I know...but 13 is like that!):

"I never get lost, I just arrive at an alternate destination."

"I intend to live forever. So far, so good."

"I have seen the truth and it makes no sense."

...and there are several more, but you get the idea of the general level of wackiness in our home.

And my all-time favorite quote is from my dad: Keep an open mind, but not so open that your brain falls out.

How to become aware and release cravings

“Meditation increases your vitality and strengthens your intelligence; your beauty is enhanced; your mental clarity and health improve. You acquire the patience and fortitude to face any problem in life. So, meditate! Only through meditation will you find the treasure you are seeking.” — Mata Amritanandamayi ("Amma")

“As meditation deepens, complusions, cravings and fits of emotion begin to lose their power to dictate our behavior.” — Eknath Easwaran
