Meditation won't necessarily help you "control" your anxienty, but it will help you to become more aware of when this anxiety is arising so that recognise it for what it is and choose to act accordingly rather than re-act (reacting is what the mind wants you to do; acting is what is needed in the present moment).
But in short, yes, meditation will be of benefit to you.
