Default hi everyone

I have come to this forum seeking guidance, and an understanding of very important things that I feel i have long neglected. I'm a 33 year old male just had a beautiful baby girl in january. I want more than anything to be a loving father and provide for her the best that I can. I feel that recently I'm in a rut of sorts, more in a spiritual way. The little lady and I have not been getting along so well lately and I feel that my behavior is becoming more like something that I don't want to be. when I say behavior, what I mean is how I have been reacting to stress lately. All of my life I have been very good at letting things roll off my shoulders, lately the stress has been getting the best of me... I feel like I'm losing something very important inside of my self. So I have some questions that I feel can be answered here. What is this vibration that starts in my chest and emminates to the top of my scalp? I have had this sensation since I can remember, and have always embraced it. It comes and goes, I'm sure that I went years without feeling it in my early 20's without feeling it. Around 25 I started experiencing it again, and have been trying to nurture it since then. I usually feel it while listening to good music or thinking about friends and family whom I love. I am fairly educated about religion and many belief systems as well as many aspects of spirituality, as I have always been in search of something... But have never known what. I also have a very open mind, am a very kind person to others, and do believe that LOVE is the most important thing. I just don't understand how it all goes together, or where to start. I feel lost in some way and just want to be happy, so I can help others do the same. Most of all I don't want to burden my daughter with any negativity as she grows in this world.

Thank you very much!

Hi, vib4luv,

First, congratulations on becoming a father. Even wonderful events in life can be stressful, so I'm not surprised that you and your partner are feeling some stress in your relationship as your roles evolve. You don't say whether you have a meditation practice. My advice would be that you meditate daily, even if you can only find short spans of time for that. I would also suggest that you not try to have it all figured out ahead of time, including knowing what that recurring sensation might be. We can experience many sensations in our physical and subtle nervous systems, especially during states of relaxation. I suspect that with consistent practice you will feel more spacious and confident in your evolving role as father and co-parent. Perhaps this is a practice your partner (wife?) would like to join you in as well, but you might want to lead by example rather than have it possibly become a bone of contention. I wholeheartedly agree with you that Love is the most important thing, and it is important to be loving with yourself, too, as an integral part of your family.

Best wishes, Margaret

Thank you margaret, I'm sure she is the biggest blessing in my life! We are not married yet, and I do realize that before and shortly after pregnancy is a very rough time for many families.I have tried to meditate before, I seem to have a hard time focusing. Also finding a place of solitude is not always the easiest. I suppose that those are just excuses though, I need to make the time and find the place. As far as looking for answers, that seems to be my nature as I'm a capricorn... So they have told me. In the past when I have tried to meditate, my mind doesn't seem to want to be still. If I could get some advice on how to better relax and also some ideas of what to visualize. I really want to learn to cultivate this vibrational energy that starts in what feels like my heart Chakra.

Thank you for all the help!

Good morning, vib4luv,

You can always download Michael's free Discover Meditation instruction, as well as his free demo of the LifeFlow brain-wave entrainment tracks. They are found at Project Meditation™ - Free meditation for everyone. Many on this forum have remarked that they find Discover Meditation to be very helpful. If you can only find small amounts of time during the day, that is better than nothing and a perfectly okay way to start. In fact, it is probably best to start slowly.

There is a WEALTH of information from members of the Project Meditation forum, too, so do let yourself read around. One of my favorite comprehensive posts is here -- Principles of Meditation & Entrainment -- and Michael has lots of great information in the "Learn How You Can Benefit From Project Meditation!" thread.

You have landed at a good place for starting a meditation practice, my friend. Keep us posted! Best wishes, m

The experience you describe sounds like a partial awareness of the "microcosmic orbit". Be aware that people have a tendency to try to be too precise in describing this function, as if it followed a particular path through the body. But it is actually a function of the subtle body, or energy body. Your physical body only resonates with it, so it is unlikely that it can ever be described precisely.

But above all, I urge you to hold on to your will to bring happiness to others. This is the seed of Heaven: As long as you keep this, even if you make mistakes, you will never stray far.
