Smile New to meditation

Hello, I'm new here.
Nice to meet you all

I downloaded the "Discover Meditation" a few days ago and just finished CD4 today. I had a very good experience the first day, a bit less yesterday and today, was actually no good at all. But I will try to "accept what happens during my meditations" and won't lose motivation (sine I had a good experience the first day I know it can work).

I actually wasn't looking for nor interested in meditation at all. I just landed by chance on the LifeFlow page while googling on the website for a way to ameliorate my concentration (while studying, reading or listening to other's speak) since I'm really lacking in it. I'm a student but often have difficulties to concentrate on my homework or test prep because other toughts are jumping in my head and taking me with them so that I forget I'm studying. But they're often good thoughts and I am actually enjoying them, the problem is just that I'm loosing a plenty of time and I'm sure this is not the best way to learn.

So I read the explanations about LifeFlow and became really curious and downloaded LF10. I then discovered this forum and the "Discover Meditation" and decided to try meditation since LifeFlow was essencially created to facilite meditaion. And I'm enjoying it! And this without LF, so I'm really impatient to test it with LifeFlow!

Before beginning I have a few questions... But I will ask them tomorrow, just wanted to introduce myself because I'm sure there will be a lot of more questions and I'm already waiting for the moment to be more experienced and being helping others.

Smile Hi Nikonikohana

Warm welcome to the forum.

Experiences during meditation sessions vary wildly - a 'good' experience is often when we feel calm and peaceful and a 'bad' experience when we are agitated, restless etc etc.

Truth is, there are really no bad or good sessions, they are all part of what is going on. Meditating brings stuff up to the surface to be dealt with. Just accepting whatever happens allows it to dissipate and makes room for more to come up. So each meditation session is doing what is right for that time - smoothing the path or digging out the big rocks.

Have a great adventure
peace and joy

Well said Hazel !

Welcome Nikonikohana !
That sounds a bit like a Hawaian name.

On the concentration: what worked for me when I found out my concentration in conversations and studying was fading, was that I tried to completely forget about myself, all that really existed was the homework, or what the person across was saying, and I pretend not to exist.
That way you shut down your ego for a while, so there won't be any intrusive thoughts about yourself for some time.
Just a tip
