Default Question from a new user

Hi

I am Shiladitya from India and I have recently joined the Community. I have started meditating from last week.
The urge to meditate and gain some amount of control over the mind had been there for a fairly long time, but had somehow not managed to get started.
I have always suffered from a persistent and general feeling of anxiety which got aggravated, when I was diagnosed with a high BP (Blood Pressure) a couple of months ago. The anxiety in turn led to Sleeplessness and it felt like getting caught in a vicious circle.
I have till now somehow resisted resorting to anti-anxiety/sleeping medicines and have pinned hope on strengthening my mind and eliminating anxiety through meditation.
Would request those who have benefitted from it to share their experiences with me so that it can be used a source of inspiration as well as a guide to my efforts.

Hi shiladitya and welcome to the community,

although I have not suffered from anxiety and high blood pressure, I did experience so many sleepless nights for years and used to be "a real worrier" Regular LifeFlow meditation has completely changed my life, mentally, physically and spiritually. I now enjoy a good night's restful sleep once again which makes such a difference to each day

I have realised how I was creating my reality both internally and externally and through regular meditation have changed my perspective dramatically by observing and letting go of some deep suppressed emotions I didn't realise I had. I can now see how much these held me back in life. Life is so much more enjoyable now, whether food tastes more delicious or never feeling too full, because I always know when I have had just sufficient, solving problems and making decisions easily - just being present, feels so alive and good.

I could go on and on, but enough about me, here's what a few others have to say about sleeplessness/anxiety... Hope this is of help and I wish you much peace and joy
