Default Hi Everyone

I have been taking a look at Lifeflow after having a browse through Holosync. For some reason my intuition told me not to go ahead with Holosync and to look at LF.

I have downloaded and listened to the demo which I really enjoyed and will probably sign up for the course.

There are so many things I want to change with LF:

- poor sleep
- poor concentration
- low confidence
- high blood pressure
- inability to stick at projects or get things done

to name but a few.

Wish me luck!

Thank you, Pollyanna, that is very kind.

I have just purchased LF10 and received an email from Michael about the 'guided meditation'. Is this compulsory? I already practice TM and would like to use that mantra (though my TM teacher would shoot me!)

Hi Oceanchild,

The guided meditations are provided free to support and deal with specific issues, so feel free to use them if you wish.

The "discover meditation" course is also a free download, teaching how to do mantra based meditation, which is essentially the same as you've learnt with TM.

Lifeflow is best used whilst meditating. You don't have to 'listen' to the Lifeflow track, just let it play over headphones whilst you meditate and use your mantra as your focus to take you to the state of meditation as you normally would. The lifeflow entrainment frequencies will do their thing for the neural pathways in the brain without you needing to expend any energy focusing on the lifeflow track.

Yes, a TM teacher would discourage you using something else whilst meditating, but that's just a control issue of the TM organisation and it's teachings (If they really dislike you doing it, then that just shows that that teacher does not understand the truth of Advaita Vedanta upon which the TM organisation is based). In truth, and as you'll find yourself, there is nothing wrong with using Lifeflow at the same time, just so long as you don't spend your meditation time focusing on the track itself.

Hugs

Giles

Thanks for that Giles.

I love TM though have become disillusioned with the 'hype' around it.

For example, there are several sites where you can go to read a list of the mantras given out to TM students yet I was told I must never tell it out loud to anyone. I have also come across these mantras freely available in books.

I find that bizarre, especially as the mantras are not as individualised as they are made out to be.

This is a shame as I was taught by a teacher who seceded from the TM organisation because he no could no longer tolerate the high fees and control freakery of the TM or.

Look forward to connecting with you on this forum.

You mean like this one... The TM Techniques, which although it's trying to put down meditation, is actually quite informative of the actual 'secrets'.

yet I was told I must never tell it out loud to anyone. I have also come across these mantras freely available in books.

Yes, it's a shame the TM organisation lie about that aspect of learning meditation. There again, even the meditation I learnt (which is mantra based, like TM, but without the ceremony) was taught to me on the premise that my mantra was unique and individual to me. A little investigation showed it was one of the TM mantras. I guess it's a control thing or something to make you feel that what you are learning is something 'special'. It is special, but the secrecy makes it so you are meant to believe that you are privileged in some way and that in itself creates duality with the ego believing you are different from others.

Everyone can (and should) learn meditation for their own benefit, and there shouldn't be any sort of secrecy about it. Thankfully, Michael provides it free in his download, and you can choose whatever mantra you like.

That's the great thing about this community. Everyone here is interested in meditation in some way, and nobody makes out that there's anything secretive about any of it.

Hugs

Giles
