Red face Hello Everyone

Hello all,

I'm new to the forums, but not entirely new to meditation. I've practiced on and off for a few years, but I'm trying to find new ways to keep me dedicated to the practice. I figure if I'm in contact with people who meditate regularly (which due to time constraints I'm not in real life), it might help me stay more consistent with my meditation practice.

I'm still investigating the site, but currently I enjoy meditating on the breath, and then working on some chi kung breathing sets I've learned after I've focused my mind sufficiently. If anyone has any experience in chi kung sitting meditations or even moving meditations, I'd greatly appreciate some input. I do quite a bit of martial arts, and I'm more interested in the internal aspects as of late. Any guidance or even opinion would be greatly appreciated.

I think that's about it. Message me anytime if you ever want to talk to talk about meditation experiences or anything else. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Hi WhiteBlur and welcome to the Project Meditation community.

Have you tried downloading the free Discover Meditation course from here? It's a mantra based meditation (the same sort as Transcendental Meditation) if you haven't already tried that.

A good few years ago I used to do Tai Chi and Chi Kung, as a beginner, but that is what got me interested in complementary therapies, spiritual aspects of life, and meditation.

Hugs

Giles

Default Thanks

Very cool Giles. I'll check out the Discover Meditation course. I'm always into trying something I haven't done before.

That's cool that you tried Tai Chi/Chi Kung. Do you know what style of Tai Chi it was? Or if you were learning the 24 Posture Form?

It was Yang Style Tai Chi, and I think there were around 30 steps (can't recall exactly it was some years ago). Would be good to do it again if I could find a good teacher (the teachers I had were wife/husband team and the husband was an ex-martial artist).
