Default Hi everyone

Hello from Finland!!

I am completely new to meditation but after trying the demo I had to get the the complete package. I get stressed really easily and have high blood pressure and trouble sleeping and have really high hopes for this to work wonders

I have now taken the "Intro" course and the guided meditation classes. I was just wondering how to progress from here?

Should I do the 40 min tracks from now on? Is ok to cut the meditation
time in half so that I listen to the first 20 minutes in the morning and the second 20 minutes in the afternoon??

Have a nice evening everyone!!

Hi PJH and welcome to the Project Meditation community,

You can meditate for as long as you like (not too long though as that is said to be detrimental) and once, twice, three times a day etc. as suits you.

If you're new to meditation then 40 minutes is quite a long time, and many people just starting out will do just 10 minutes twice a day and gradually build it up.

It's not necessary to do the full 40 minutes listening to the Lifeflow tracks, though the brain entrainment is said to take about 7 or 8 minutes before it becomes effective, aiming for about 20 minutes is plenty especially if you are going to meditate twice a day. I myself aim for 40 minutes (with lifeflow) in the morning and 20 minutes (without lifeflow) in the evening.

The tracks are consistent throughout the 40 minutes so you don't have to concern yourself with listening to the first 20 minutes and then the second 20 minutes, you can just start it from the beginning each time and meditate for as long as you have chosen.

Hope that helps.

Hugs

Giles

Thank you Giles fo getting back at me. I have now tried the 40 minute sessions and the 1 time went really well. I felt really connected and good the hole time but the following 2 times I just could not concentrate and it did not "feel" as good as the first time.

I'm still going to stick to the program and try getting about 30-40 minutes of daily meditation done. Is there any difference in doing 40 minutes once a day compared to two 20 minute sessions??

I also have some entrainment/meditation apps for my Iphone, is it ok to use these alongside the lifeflow program??

Thankfull for any answers.

The only real difference between doing 1 x 40 minute session per day and 2 x 20 minute sessions per day is that you get to meditate more often with 2 sessions and thus deal with what's gone on in the day. e.g. if you just meditated once in the morning, you've then got all that days influences in the mind that you will sleep with until you meditate the next morning. With 2 sessions, you can meditate the second time in the evening and go to bed with your mind more still. But... do what you find best for you.

As for using other things whilst using lifeflow... you can, though most would advise against it simply because, as you are starting out on meditation and entrainment we like to find what works best for us, and if you do more than one thing at once, you won't really know which one is giving you the benefit.

Hugs

Giles
