Default The Gardeners Guide To Great Harvests

Great harvests have been achieved over the eons with a few simple tools. The tool kit does not need to be extensive. The wonder of it all is that the most appropriate tool always presents itself as the most serviceable and suitable at any given time. And best of all, they are not an acquisition of the mind so are freely available to all.

1. Be kind to everything and everyone, including oneself, all of the time, with no exception.

2. Revere all of life in all its expressions, no matter what, even if one does not understand it.

3. Presume no actual reliable knowledge of anything at all. Ask God to reveal its meaning.

4. Intend to see the hidden beauty of all that exists – it then reveals itself.

5. Forgive everything that is witnessed and experienced, no matter what. Remember Christ, Buddha and Krishna all said that all error is due to ignorance. Socrates said all men can choose only what they believe to be the good.

6. Approach all life with humility and be willing to surrender all positionalities and mental/emotional arguments or gain.

7. Be willing to forgo all perceptions of gain, desire or profit and thereby be willing to be of selfless service to life in all its expressions.

8. Makes one’s life a living prayer by intention, alignment, humility and surrender. True spiritual reality is actually a way of being in the world.

9. Accept that by spiritual declaration, commitment and surrender, Knowingness arises that provides support, information and all that is needed for the entire journey.

10. Be devoted.

Happy gardening!!

Olmate

Sounds easy, but unfortunately the ego is stronger then the words... only the suffering it seems, overcomes the ego.

Or perhaps the ego is weak, but it plants the belief that it is strong and it is this belief that is preventing you from believing that, in fact, the words can have greater power, in the present moment, to break down those things that restrict you from living by them. This belief that prevents, is known as "doubt". It's based on things from the past, not the present.

Hehe ok.

Experience creates belief... which means that our experience has no value at all. Is that a dogma again? lol

Hi Phil,

Our ego is our biological inheritance, and without it, nobody would be alive to lament its limitations.

One Teacher who provides guidance to me suggests that by understanding its origin and intrinsic importance to survival, the ego can be seen to be of great benefit. However for those intent on walking an elightened path, it then becomes prone to becoming unruly and causing emotional, psychological and spiritual problems if not resolved or transcended.

In this light, it would not be overcome by viewing it as an enemy. Like many aspects of life, it is what it is. It's hold or otherwise is up to each of us as we make moment by moment choices on our daily encounters on our chosen paths.

The gardeners toolkit aims to provide reminders and pointers as we make those moment by moment choices on the path. If ego has its way though, it would try to use the tools against us. So in that sense I use them as slogans and reference points. But that is just a personal choice. Like lots of advice on this forum, use what works for you.

Nothing but the best...

Don

I am on a quest to control my ego...and NOT to have it control me. Sometimes it seems so easy...logical....other times it's on auto pilot. I do believe it's getting easier everyday. By the by Olmate....very kind, flowing words in your "tool kit".
Plz N' Thnx, Bogie
