I think many people do this when they face so many challenges and life seems too tough Volcom and I would never judge them. I do think it's great to give thanks everyday also to God, the Universe or whatever people believe in.
There is so much to give daily thanks for yet sometimes this can be blinded by a state of mind. The thing to remember is a state of mind is only temporary.
The U.S. Dollar bill has written on it "IN GOD WE TRUST"
I personally "believe like it all depends on God and act like it all depends on me" That way I am still responsible and we make a great team together.

DESIDERATA

Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with wild imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.
