Hi All,
I recently put down a book by Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor - My Stroke of Insight.
The book describes the event and her subsequent lengthy recovery from a massive stroke. If you are interested in the right side / left side hemisphere debate, this is a good start. It also opened my eyes to the suffering of stroke victims.
I have just started The Wise Heart by Jack Kronfield, Buddhist Psychology for the west. I like Jack's easy manner, I think this will be a good read.
I'm also on my second visit to The Quiet by Paul Wilson. This is Highly Recommend.
I will leave you with the words of Shantideva:
May I be a guard for those who need protection
A guide for those on the path
A boat, a raft, a bridge for those who wish to cross the flood
May I be a lamp in the darkness
A resting place for the weary
A healing medicine for all who are sick
A vase of plenty, a tree of miracles
And for the boundless multitudes of living beings
May I bring sustenance and awakening
Enduring like the earth and sky
Until all beings are freed from sorrow
And all are awakened

That guy had style……………..
