Default Can I get drunk like state using meditation?

So, I can understand how it may sound, but I actually need that for my project.

(I am something like student who wants to apply for a health care job. I will develop new ways of treatment. Before that I have to make almost one project that would improve health care possibilities.)

It is more about part that involves being less smart and stressed. I just need to find a way how to do it without harming health. I used meditation before in such things, so you can just refer to type of meditation or something like that.

Hi Dogincorporation and welcome to the Project Meditation Community.

I'm not quite sure what it is you're asking or trying to achieve. Meditation won't induce a drunk like state if that's what you're asking. Only alcohol can do that, although there really is little (or no) point to being in such a state.

Meditation can certainly help people to feel less stressed, but is more likely to bring about mental alertness rather than making people less smart; although how smart you are purely depends on your conscious knowledge, where meditation can actually bring unconscious knowledge to the surface, hence making us appear smarter, although we really already know everything already, even if we don't know how to put it into words.

Hugs

Giles

Default explaining.

Well, to explain more, there are people who knows too much.
You see, there's operations where you must be awake. About 8 hours before operation you mustn't eat or drink. While being operated, you must be calm for better surviving chances , but those chances are too small to be calm, so no one who is smart enough won't be calm.

Still not quite sure what sort of operation you would be referring to. Yes, there are operations where you mustn't eat or drink beforehand and there are risks involved with any operation, and of course being calm going into an operation is better than being stressed, but what is the point in trying to feel drunk?

Meditation and being present will certainly help in such situations. Letting go of the fears and thoughts that are arising will maintain stillness in the mind as well as the body. A few months back I was in Hospital for a kidney stone and the pain was very extreme, but I still managed to maintain presence of mind and recognise that the pain was in the body and I was still me, still present and still observing it; the pain did nothing to stop me from being me and being aware. I admit, there were times when the pain did distract me from being present, but I did what I could to maintain that awareness of the present moment where possible and certainly avoided dwelling on thoughts of the past or ideas of the future.

Hugs

Giles

To add to being aware of the pain, like Giles spoke of, I did this for a headache/neck pain once. I just watched the pain and it lowered in intensity significantly. Most of our physical pain is excaberated by our minds too.
