Default Stopping internal dialogue during meditation

hi folks, just thought i'd share a tip i read on calming your inner dialogue during meditation.

the technique is to touch the roof of your mouth just behind your teeth with the tip of your tongue.

This works on the basis that mind & body are one system. Internal dialogue is accompanied by tiny micro-muscle movements of the tongue & larynx. When these movements are restricted the internal voice stops.

does anyone do this already with this purpose in mind?

Default They teach this in Tai Chi too!

Hi Trevor,
That's a very good tip. I recently joined Tai Chi classes and one of the first things they asked us to do was to touch the tip of the tongue to the palate during the Tai Chi movements. I didn't understand why, but now I know.
I'm going to try this the next time to see if my internal dialog goes down!!

Siva

In the Dalai Lama's "How To See Yourself As You Really Are", he explains that placing the tongue against the palate prevents drooling during long meditation sessions!
