Default Funny thing meditation

Funny thing meditation, the changes are subtle and not alway obvious.

Yesterday I noticed (that word again ) something about myself an openess that when noticed was quite a.... Well I'll tell you instead.

I was waiting to pick my wife up, outside a supermarket, when a group of teenagers happened by, appearances do not bother me, being an ex-punk from the late 70's I often laugh when our own 18yr old son tries to shock us. Anyway this group would be aptly described as "goth" they we're being typically obnoxious but harmless. One big lad had a burger, he had finished with the box and promptly threw it in the air and back healed to the ground. Turning to see me looking directly at him, he began to snarl and stare me down, I just opened up to him, silently forgiving him and offering him peace. I looked down at the crumpled box, then back to his eyes he was still snarling but I smiled again. He promptly bent down a picked the box up and walked over to the trash and dropped it in the bin. Turning back to me he smiled, nodded and rejoined the group. Awhile back I would have grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and forced him to pick it up...

In our bathroom there is a spider, he resides just behind the toilet water cistern. He was there when we moved in 3 months ago. Awhile back I would have squished him and flushed him. Now he's called Harry and we have an understanding...
Funny thing meditation..

Peace

love hearing things like this haha.

I could imagine this same story being on twitter, but more like "OMG JUST SAW FRICEKN GOTH LOSER TOSSING TRASH ON DA GROUND, GET A LIFE!"

Makes you wonder what the world would be like if all of these subtle changes applied to every individual person. Bathrooms would definitely double as spider houses, which is a scary thought.

Thanks for sharing karmoh

Thanks Karmoh...

I guess I'm not as far along the path. Would definitely kill the spider. Would not, however, kill the kid who threw the stuff on the ground. So, that's some progress, right?

Cool mouse guest

We have mice visitors regularly. They do not come to an understanding about what can have holes bitten into and what cannot.
We catch them with peanut butter in the trap and then relocate them. At first the relocation was close to home and they returned. I did think initially we were catching brothers and sisters, but one started to look very familiar.

After a space, Maisie came along - I think it's a she - but I'm not an expert. She's a bit fussy - only likes the smooth peanut butter. She has a little white spot, so I know it is her. She has come back from a mile away, two miles away and 3 1/2 miles away - I've just seen her run down the wall again from the meter cupboard and I only re-homed her yesterday.

At least she doesn't squeak when I'm meditating.
peace and joy

Wonderful story Karmoh, and excellent observation. It's times like that that bring meditation to fruition.

Bryan, LOL! that was funny.

Hugs

Giles.
